EGBFitness Posted 28 May 2017 Posted 28 May 2017 Amazing memory. I was ony 6 but went to the game and still remember the goal and Kalak coming on. Apparently i I said after full time Leicester was going to win the premier league and everyone laughed around us... I was predicting in 20 years time obviously
Nickfosse Posted 28 May 2017 Posted 28 May 2017 Loved the day, and loved that season. Fought back from McGhee leaving and the infamous Sheffield seat throwing protest to make the playoffs with momentum. I was at Charlton away the game after the protest and we ground out a win with Muzzy making his full debut I think. Obviously the final and the Claridge goal is etched forever on the minds of all those there, but the fixture that really made an impression was Stoke away in the semi. We dominated the game and Parker scored. We were pelted with pies and coins from the Stoke fans behind us. At the end of the game, frustrated to lose a game so convincingly they expected to win, their fans tried to get in our end but horses and dogs kept them from us. On the way out, we had Stoke fans bashing the roof of our car trying to get me out for a fight. Never been so relieved to get away from a football ground in one piece.
