Air Softing

Went and played this for the first time yesterday on a Stag do. What a laugh.

To anyone that isn't aware Air Softing is similar to paintballing but you use rifles that shoot BB's rather than paintballs. Much more fun than paintballing because when you get hit you just go to a respawn point rather than being out of the game. There was only 9 of us in the Stag Party but in total there was 90 people there yesterday. Most of the other people take it wayyyy to serious. Coming in their own Camo gear, sniper rifles etc. Clearly its not a hobby to some people and they didn't like the fact that our stag party was on every winning team lol. The stag is a big lad who had a bright orange T shirt on so no chance of hiding for him but he was well into it. Rushing in all guns blazing lol

Is there anyone here who has done it before or has their own Rifle? A very tiring day but absolutely loved every minute of it.

How painful is it in comparison to paintballing? Took a paintball to the throat last time I went and thought I was a goner lol

Sounds fun though

Depends where you get hit. Its nothing more than a sting for all of 10-20 secs. Just need to remember if you have been hit by 1 BB there is more than likely another 5 heading your way with these automatic rifles.

The worst one I had was on the side of my neck but it isn't too bad. During the last game 1 lad got shot in close quarters on his forehead and he had blood pouring down his face. So it can split the skin but overall the pain is bearable

Would you say more/less painful than painballing? I loved paintballing as a kid but I went about a year ago and I hated it. Probably because the morons at Delta Force in Coventry split the teams horrendously shit.

They had one team who all the staff knew and were on first name basis's with - they all did paintballing as a hobby every week. Then the other team consisted of families, small children, and my group of friends! Safe to say we got absolutely battered, and it was so painful. Never going to Delta Force again, absolute horse shit place.

I have done both paintballing and now Air Softing and the most pain I had was from paintballing. got shot on my palm and it throbbed for hours.

There were quite a few kids playing yesterday. Think you need to be 11yrs or older and they all said its only painful for a few seconds.

I had a jumper and joggers on so no armour or anything and most of the time I knew I had been shot but felt no pain as my jumper protected me quite well. When I got hit on my leg I felt it but the pain soon goes.

Put it this way. My brother and a couple of the other lads were sh***ing themselves thinking it would be mega painful, wore loads of layers, shinpads on arms etc After 2 games they stripped down to trousers and t shirt. I would never do that at paintballing

I've got a friend who's one of the guys that takes it seriously. Like, full swat gear.

Does look a laugh to be fair.

Never tried it though.

We were sat there at the start of the day thinking oh dear all these people with full on camo on and snipers at over a metre and half long we are going to get battered. In the end they were all boring as f*** just sat at a distance hiding. The lads that went running and gunning were much more fun.

Its well worth a try. Its £45 for the day which included hiring their gun. If you have your own gun its £20. An expensive hobby but it was a good laugh. Not sure I would be looking to take it up seriously though

How do you ref it? Does it just rely on people being honest when they get hit?

This is also the problem I had at Delta Force Paintball. Egotists on the other team would not leave the area, they'd just wipe the paint off! Marshalls wouldn't investigate probably because they knew all members of the opposite team personally.

Made for a horrendous day out tbf.

There are Marshalls all over the place watching the action. There has to be a level of honesty but there were definitely people yesterday not accepting the hit. the Marshalls were really good in identifying when people were shot and they knew culprits that wouldn't accept the shot and give out warnings.

Also a lot of the people are snipers. Who can literally watch their BB hit their target. I could hear snipers shouting out when they know they got a clean hit. They are still looking down their scope so can see the target flinch when hit.

So overall it was well disciplined, I didn't see much dishonesty during the game. Also most people take the game really serious so always accept the hit when they get hit.
