We have an NFL thread, and with today being one of the largest Saturdays of the year with the return of a full roster of fixtures are there many on here that follow it? I'm hoping my former employers Baylor University can rise from what has been a pretty disastrous two years surrounding the programme.

Watching Maryland - Texas at the moment as it happens.

Its a sweet sweet feeling watching the longhorns get beat, even better to a team who hadn't beaten a ranked team for over 5 years!

For me the fun was being able to watch so many games as a neutral. I think it's far more competitive with a lot of young players who are living literally just to make it to the NFL and then other players who are just naturally gifted athletes and genetic freaks. I think what has always grabbed my attention is that these are university teams getting attendances in the tens of thousands. Unfortunately my team Baylor had a pretty embarrassing loss, karma for poking the stick at Texas no doubt.

College Football was really what got me into American Football, I tried over the years to watch NFL but as I didn't know what was going on it was hard for me to get into as I got easily put off by the constannt stoppages.

Started watching College a couple of years ago and the tempo they play at just got me hooked and as I've gradually learnt how the game works and the rules to it I am now fixed on the NFL aswell.

I’m a college football addict.  Only occasionally watch an NFL game (including the Browns, though I was a STH before they moved to Baltimore).  I prefer the tradition and pageantry of the college game.

We take in a game when we’re traveling.  Texas A&M v Nebraska, Boise State v Utah State, Arizona State v USC and UTSA v Middle Tennessee in the last five years.  The crowds are every bit as passionate without the ugly, drunk-show aspect at NFL games.  You only think you’ve seen atmosphere until you’ve been in a “12th Man” crowd of 90,000-plus at Kyle Field.

My team … no surprises.  My mate’s son was Brutus the last couple of years lol

Well, I was looking forward to the opening of the bowl slate after our match today, but I doubt even five games will be enough distraction to get my mind right.

Anyone doing Bowl Mania or another confidence pool?  I put a lot of points at risk today.

OR over Boise State (20)

NCA&T over Grambling (22)

Arkansas State over MTSU (34)

Western Kentucky over Georgia State (37)

North Texas over Troy (40)

Actually found the college matches on BT/ESPN recently to be more entertaining than the NFL. No real knowledge of it or the players, but I watched Auburn v Alabama and it was spellbinding, both the match and the Auburn crowd.

Shame that the Championship games are played on neutral territory. The SEC in Atlanta felt a bit flat, but not as bad as having the Pac-12 in San Francisco, which by all accounts is in a shit location for fans to get to, meaning many empty seats and little atmosphere.

Browsed some of the other games but there seem to be lots of walkovers which I don't find great. Should have a look at the bowl games I need to be watching soon and make plans!
