Not sure if it's been mentioned anywhere but for anyone travelling on the train, be aware there is a train strike on Sat 9th and Sun 10th which will mean reduced timetables and buses on some routes..  See http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/service_disruptions/176810.aspx

According to that, the line is unaffected between Birmingham and Newcastle. This is Cross Country though so I won't hold my breath.

 

Other operators provide services to Sheffield and between Leeds/Donacster/York and Newcastle, but it could be a ballache for those of us with advanced tickets!

The link to the maps say the line is unaffected but the link to the revised timetable shows revised times and reduced number of trains.
