Benji Posted 14 October 2005 Posted 14 October 2005 competition of whose hardest off is it? everyone chooses their way of life, deal with it tuition fees are at least 3,000 , accommodation is thousands depending on the area , for some practises there are further years of training which are funded by the student. Nothing is free and it would be funny to see how the world would cope without educated people in 20 years time.

You miss the point these "educated people" will be doing our jobs cheaper elsewhere in the world.
cisono Posted 14 October 2005 Posted 14 October 2005 it would be funny to see how the world would cope without educated people in 20 years time. Maybe we will get to see that... one way or another

Nothing is free and it would be funny to see how the world would cope without educated people in 20 years time. Well said. Some students have got it easy and take the piss with their obnoxious, foul mouthed behaviour and drunkeness etc, but don't tar us all with the same brush. I've done a degree, worked a year, and now gone back into full time education doing a professional course. And yet people still say stuff like 'lazy students' and 'tax dodgers' etc. I worked full time from 7.30am - 4.30 most days (some days even later) to earn enough money to live for a year without any income and to pay my course fees. If I told you (this isn't aimed at Benji) how much my course fees are for a one-year course you'd be amazed. You try living 10 months without any income and without any loan or grant to cover your expenses or living costs, and then say all students have it easy.
Benji Posted 14 October 2005 Posted 14 October 2005 Maybe we will get to see that... one way or another unlikely, university applications get greater every year, especially now it is widely open to international students and mature students. steven, sorry not sure what your saying think i read it wrong?
cisono Posted 14 October 2005 Posted 14 October 2005 unlikely, university applications get greater every year, especially now it is widely open to international students and mature students. Well, if they are international students, they'll probably take their degrees back home (ehm unlike me so far)
Katy Posted 14 October 2005 Posted 14 October 2005 Im heading towards a stress related illness at present
Benji Posted 14 October 2005 Posted 14 October 2005 maybe so, but i suppose it is all relative, students from here will go abroad and come back, others will emmigrate here just like british people do to the likes of australia, america etc. Obviously you don't have to go university to offer something to the country, i'm just saying that a proportion of professions require this otherwise we wouldn' be as strong a nation as we are. We have a decent balance, be it a farmer in norfolk or a high court judge, they all rely on one another. How have we got here from a thread about being ill? well i just think that people should stop preaching and get on with the path THEY chose. Hitesh, getting ill is all part of the drinking. Matt surely you knew what to expect when you took on your course and work. It is possible for students to have equally tough lives.
Steven Posted 14 October 2005 Posted 14 October 2005 unlikely, university applications get greater every year, especially now it is widely open to international students and mature students. steven, sorry not sure what your saying think i read it wrong? My point is two things. All the debt accumulated by Students turns up as an asset on the Government's books. Secondly it does not matter whether there are enough qualified students coming out of the University system because if there is not then there is always a pool of qualified people elsewhere in the world that can also do the same job.
Hitesh Posted 14 October 2005 Author Posted 14 October 2005 Are you still ill? yeah....feelin worse now. i went out to a bar aswell, and i didnt plan to drink any alcohol but im not going to a bar and ordering a j2o!!
