Went into the Two Tailed Lion for the first time in ages yesterday, needs the original owners (not sure if they sold up?) back. They had the LED lights on so to was far too clinical, beer ranges was a bit sparse. Bloke behind the bar was completely disinterested. It's aged since opening but it hasn't added a nice patina to it, instead it's looking a bit tired.

I have such a dour outlook for pretty much all city centre pubs because I just don't see how it's sustainable to operate pubs trading off match days and the odd busy weekend. Especially with hospitality almost uniquely battered by taxation directly and indirectly. It's quite sad that both of the Spoons will be creeping into the city's top 10 pubs soon (said as a JDW respecter).

Yeah it's a really sad feeling in TTL.

The couple sold up after having a child and got no interest in going back to running pubs. They were brilliant in their many different guises - ran Brewdog, Tap in the Square, Brewkopedia  and then TTL.

Framework took it on and did a decent job before a ****ing accountancy firm bought it.

Off to a gig in Manchester tonight - at the Ritz.

Will be choosing the Briton's Protection over the Peak of the Pev - think the latter is over-rated.

Have you been to The Temple, near both of those pubs.

Had a decent enough pint in TTL the other week and still thought it was just about holding up interior wise save for a good dust/clean but 100% agree on the beer range not being quite what it was. Someone taking it on with time / passion for it could do it the world of good

The Death Star hangar lighting obviously doesn’t help in showing up the imperfections
