Wigan are ready to make Leicester an offer for Callum Elder.

The left-back was an integral member of the Wigan side promoted as League One champions.

Manager Paul Cook wants to make the loan into a permanent transfer for next season, with Elder having one year left on his Leicester contract this summer.

But a number of Championship clubs are tracking the situation too.

Leicester are reviewing their left-back options, with Ben Chilwell emerging as first-choice and Christian Fuchs potentially being made available.

But if both stay it is expected Australian Elder will be allowed to move on after seven years at the King Power Stadium.

Elder has helped the Latics gain promotion to the Championship but the 23-year-old also played a key part in their magical FA Cup run which saw them knock out Pep Guardiola's Manchester City.
