It is a direct reflection of the normal death rate of the lower class migrant workforce in Qatar (and no doubt Saudi etc as well).  This is normal for them.  The problem then is the awarding of the contract to a country which doesn't take sufficient care of its migrant workforce wihout at least making sure it improves as a result.  On another note, football going full tilt at Gueye of PSG for refusing to wear a rainbow numbered kit when they are taking the world cup to a country where homosexuality is illegal is so hypocritical it is almost funny.  Almost.

Ahh but you're forgetting FIFA, by giving them the WC are going to change their attitude and laws, they are going to educate them into a football, people loving nation.

I’m really disappointed that the national FAs didn’t get together and boycott this s hitshow. Honestly, what are FIFA going to do if eight or so of the top ranked teams just refuse to play?

I did apply for tickets and did want to go but defo not anymore. I will watch england and other major games via an illegal stream so as not to add to the viewing figures. Probably need to do all we can, collectively, to paint this world cup as a major fail.

I wouldn’t be sorry to see us pull out and/or players pull out even at this late stage. It’s a disgrace and I hope that it’s massively highlighted throughout the tournament. FIFA should be ashamed, of course they don’t give a toss mind as they’ve received their money.

Interesting to see what would happen if a player, after scoring a goal lifted his shirt to reveal a t’shirt bearing the slogan compensate the 6500, or pay the workers. Probably get fined and banned from the tournament.

UEFA could have put a stop to this, but they didn’t.  They hold some responsibility, as does every other governing body that agreed to stop play so this could take place.
