That sums up our performance. Dreadful. Our forward play was a joke, we looked clueless. Aimless high balls lumped up to De Vries, Hume, Hammond, Dublin. No midfield support or full backs pushing forward. Nobody came out of the game with any real credit.

I'm afraid I can't be that generous.

Every single one of them was guilty of unforced errors and The only reason any of them got four was because they were wearing LCFC shirts.

For me that was as bad as it gets.

How Levein could possibly take off Hammond and leave Hamiil on just beggars belief.

Am starting to believe that Levein has got us all fooled with his thoughtful composed manner.

Is he Sven in disguise?

Stearman 6

McCarthy 6

Dublin 6 -

Johansson 5 - Tell you what, lets just play a left back at left back.

Sylla 5.5

Hughes 5 - He is yet to be anywhere near as effective i thought he'd be in the center

Kisnorbo 4

Hamill 5

De Vries 4 - Should have came off for Hume. Once we went behind there was no way a goal was coming with two lumps up front.

Hammond 6 - At least he threatened the goal and his pace caused problems. The rest of the team came up with **** all.

Subs:

Tiatto 5

Hume 5 - I bet he was relishing it coming on to play up front with them pair of donkeys.

Joey 5

WE LOST AGAINST A TEAM WHO PLAY AKINBIYI AS A LONE STRIKER. Shocking.

Doulgas - 6

Kicking was poor, which may be down to his injury. I can't ever remember him being tested throughout the game.

Stearman - 5

Too many wayward passes and seemed reluctant to get forward for long periods.

Dublin - 6

Swept up behind McCarthy most of the time with just Akinbiyi upfront.

McCarthy - 7

A solid game and contained Akinbiyi well generally. Cool and composed on the ball, which is in contrast to his previous panicy performances.

Johansson - 4

OK in the first half, lacklustre in the second. Distribution was woeful again.

Sylla - 4

How frustrating can you get? He shows some lovely tricks and flicks to get past players, but apart from that, he was dire. Lost the ball on too many occasions by either faffing around with it or just simply giving the ball away. As mentioned in another thread, he drifted in to the centre of midfield like Twatto, negating his duties on the right. Crossing was poor.

Kisnorbo - 5

Failed to reach the heights of Saturday. Like a lot of the players, gave the ball away far too cheaply.

Hughes - 5

Didn't have many options when in posession of the ball, which was a combination of static movement, and Burnley's 3 man midfield closing the space down.

Hamill - 5

Attempted to run at players with the ball, but his crossing was awful. Also got dragged in too much as well like Sylla.

de Vries - 5

It's difficult for him when he's being marked by 2 players at a time, which prevents him from controlling the ball and turning effectively. The service wasn't great to be fair, but there were occasions where his speed of thought wasn't there when in posession.

Hammond - 5

Caused Burnley a few problems in the first half with his pace, but was anonymous in the second, hence the substitution.

Subs:

Hume - 5

Didn't really get in to the game with so many non effective long balls.

Gudjonsson - 5

His introduction didn't add anything to the side.

Twatto - 5

Not a left back.

Totaly agree with you there Scowy! Except for De Vries I'd personally give him a good 1 out of 10!!

Another dire night to be a Leicester City fan. The result of poor management and a desire to field an unchanged side from the one that won at Watford. I maintained that we didn't play that well against Watford.

Douglas - 6 - Kicking is poor. Nothing much to do otherwise

Stearman - 5 - Another poor game from him (I didn't think he played well against Watford).

McCarthy - 7 - Looked comfortable all night and showed a good touch of pace.

Dublin - 6.5 - Did ok really. Made some good tackles

Johansson - 5 - Not a left back

Sylla - 6 - People are harsh. He got stuck in, made some good challenges mostly because he had to go searching for the ball rather than a blue shirt picking him out with a pass

Kisnorbo - 5 - Outnumbered in the midfield, but got stuck in. His passing was woeful last night

Hughes - 4.5 - Disappointing display. Granted he was outnumbered in the middle by Burnley, but his passing was off, and he never once looked like being penetrative.

Hamill - 4.5 - Fairly anonymous again (as at Watford). Just this time he didn't get the opportunity to play any neat balls because he didn't see a great deal of the ball

De Vries - 5 - Tried hard, held the ball up on a few occasions, but the midfield was in no position to run on to them. In truth, he had little service as most balls were just hoof (which we know heading is not his strong point)

Hammond - 6 - Worked hard and tirelessly, it's just a shame he doesn't have a brain to use his workmanship effectively.

Subs

Hume - 5 - No opportunities to show us what he can do. No decent service

Tiatto - 5 - By the time he came on, it was too late and smacked of desperation (i.e. Levein had picked the wrong subs bench so was unable to change the game when we were 1-0 down)

Douglas - 5 - Didn’t really have much to do so my marking might seem harsh but one moment that really stuck in my memory was when he tried to play one-two with Ade because he was getting bored (ok, it was a mistake probably) giving us all momentary palpitations. Not really at fault for the goal and apart from that didn’t have a save to make, still looked nervy when coming off his line though and doesn’t really command his area.

Stearman - 7 - I thought Richard had quite a good game, certainly when compared to the others. He became quieter in the second half but then so did everyone else. I thought his passion and eagerness stood out on the pitch and he tried to support the attack whenever he could. Made a few mistakes of course but always tried to correct them.

McCarthy - 7 - Also had quite a good game, won a lot of headers and when taking it out of defence tried to pass it along the ground rather than just hoofing it forward. Again, I saw passion there. Kept Ade quiet for most of the night...

Dublin - 6 - Mostly solid in defence, apart from when he tried to score an own goal. And when he sometimes left the ball when he should have cleared it. A little too much long-ball for my liking.

Johansson - 4 - He is not a left back! He kept drifting inside and so leaving huge gaps on the pitch for them to exploit. And he seems unable to support the attack at all, or even cross the halfway line. I like him as a centre-back but he just cannot play on the left.

Sylla - 4 - Another poor Momo performance. Didn’t help that he was asked to swap wings a few times. He did get one or two crosses in but they came to nothing, and some of his delivery from set pieces was poor. As always he was more out of the game than in it.

Hughes - 6 - It’s hard to play well in midfield when the ball is sailing over your head most of the time. He won a few headers and did seem to get about the pitch a lot, but not really while doing anything. If I remember rightly he broke through about twice, put in a couple of crosses and showed a couple of good flicks. But still it wasn’t a very good performance from him, I still think he’s one of our best players though, I just don’t think the game suited him with all the long ball. And the fact that his midfield partner couldn’t complete a pass....

Kisnorbo - 2 - I came into this game eager to see the Kisnorbo everyone had been talking about from the Watford game but instead I just saw a performance from someone who no-one can convince me is a footballer. He ran about a lot I’ll give him that, but only made a few tackles. He only managed to pass to one of his own players once, and I know that because I counted. He got pushed off the ball more than once. Levein, I know you love him, but please drop him for Joey next game.

Hamill - 3 - Very poor performance. Didn’t put a cross in all night, lost the ball frequently and was another one who was unable to pass to one of his team-mates all night. Managed to bring the ball further up the pitch sometimes and didn’t hoof it which is why I’ve given him a slightly higher mark than Kisnorbo, but not by much.

Hammond - 5 - Shot into the side netting and was probably our most dangerous player in the first half (although that isn’t really saying anything) but he takes too many touches still and either shoots too early or too late. His pace did sometimes cause problems but he didn’t exploit his advantage enough. Did little in the second half.

de Vries - 5 - Started the game off fairly brightly, held the ball up well and won a lot of headers and flick ons. Got abuse again and took it, was mildly better than Elvis which is probably why he wasn’t taken off. Still, I don’t think he had a shot on target in the whole match, his best chance being when he woefully scuffed it in the second half.

Subs:

Hume - 6 - Looked lively when he came on but just never really got onto the ball. Made their defence think but really wasn’t much better than Hammond (just scored him higher because Hammond was on the pitch for longer).

Tiatto - 6 - Supported the attack more than Johansson and showed signs of passion but really didn’t do that much.

Gudjonsson - 7 - First player in the second half to actually put his foot on the ball and start some passing moves. His first action when on the pitch was to win the ball back when they were attacking. He also switched play between wings well. He’s probably lost his place to Kisnorbo now but I really don’t see why.
