Who's for cheering on the Covscum?

I will be giving Micky Adams the reception he deserves, and I hope you all can overcome your guilt to do likewise. I will not be supporting Coventry City.

All together now; ONE Micky Adams...

At last! Something we agree on

lets get this right...everyone is going to cheer micky adams even though we wanted him out? what kind of message will that send to our current manager and team, the fact that our previous crap manager is being cheered in the same week our new manager is being booed and heckled. mmmmmmm great support and motivation from our fans. if every person that booed and chanted what a load of rubbish at the end of the game found their voices a bit more often during the game then perhaps we could create a decent atmosphere.

p.s. i dont dis-agree with the booing after tuesday, we was shite.

Don't be silly, surely Wise will be our next manager.

Correct. The thing I despise most about some fans is that they moan all through the game about how bad we are, but refuse to try and get the team going and do something about it!

what a load of crap, i want to see us play well as much as anyone else but thinking that getting rid of levein is going to cause that is complete idiocy

Seconded

Think the guy who started this thread hasn't got a clue !!!

Nobody can replace Levein at the moment (especially not Tilson at Southend who is a Southend stalwart so he won't leave) and the fact that we WON'T GET RELEGATED eases my fears.

He is building a young team that tries to generally play good football and we need to BE PATIENT.

Supporting Cov FFS - I live in Hinckley and I would rather beat Cov than Derby - at least Cov h8 us with a passion - F*rest and D*rby don't really care about us.

C'mon City let's beat the Covscum and ex-players

Up the City !!!

Maybe it could Babylon. The team could also have done without that kind of 'support' in the latter days of Micky Adams. From trolling through the records here it seems that a number of 'City til I die' types were willing on the opposition to get Adams out.

I got a red card from the mods yesterday. Seems I was confused with another 'troublemaker' on this board who suffers from insomnia or is on some permanent night shift. Quick as a flash I protested my innocence and accused the powers that be around here of infringing my right to freedom of expression. To the mods credit they rescinded my card and reactivated my account today. However...

Could be my imagination but does anyone else notice that there are some rather odd things going on on this board? Personally I am beginning to wonder how 'independent' it really is. Of course I might be wrong and that the comings and goings over the summer, the increase in visitor traffic, posts from official organisations like the BBC, reprints of posts/comments in the local press have nothing at all to do with A VERY CONFORMIST LINE ON CURRENT CLUB MANAGEMENT (something which is completely out of character with forums of this kind when clubs are in difficulty).

I think it would be very helpful if the ALL the moderators on this board could declare whether they have:

(a) an official position within LCFC

(b) a formal working relationship with the club or close family ties with senior excutives/management

© been offered any inducements (financial or in kind) by the club.

Honest answers would be appreciated.

OK folks I'm going to hold my hand up, FNQ has been right all along. We were wrong to hoof Adams out and now we are paying the price for it.

I welcomed Levein's appointment, it made a change from getting another washed out recylced has-been. But it has been obvious since the turn of the year that he can't hack it as a manager. Come Sunday he will have had virtually a full season in charge and that's a lot these days.

Levein's only signing that has really proved himself has been Hughes. While Smith looks very promising I think that it's a bit much to expect him to be Levein's get out of jail card. Levein can't and won't motivate. The team tends to fall away in the second half. Perhaps the hair dryer is on cool mode.

So I hate to say this but I will be roaring on the Covscum on Sunday and will be giving Micky a big hand. A 0-3 reverse should be enough to prompt the vote of confidence and put Levein and us long suffering supporters out of our misery.

Before some of you get precious about my treachery I will remind you that several fans on this board roared the opposition on to get Taylor and Adams out.

So who's up for a bit of Levein 'Outing' on Sunday?

Yes but thats Taylor

Paranoia springs to mind but just to say.

1) We have been warned off by LCFC for posting items from LCFC World

2) You must have missed all the severe criticisms from many posters on here of both LCFC World & the Official site

3) There have been many topics devoted to criticising LCFC’s:

§ Ticket Pricing Policy

§ The Matchday Music

§ The Public Announcer

§ Henry the Horn man

§ The Quality of refreshments

§ The Stewarding/Policing

§ Original Fan’s Forum

§ The Teams Performance

§ The Managers Ability

§ The Marketing of several disastrous attempts at making some much needed revenue

§ Etc. etc

4) Jon Barber and other Radio Leicester commentators have been ridiculed relentlessly on here, as has the phone in.

5) The Leicester Mercury and in particular Blanderson has been mercilessly denigrated for both the accuracy of his reports and his journalistic skills.

6) The ‘reprints in the Mercury also included many supportive ones from the foxfanzine website, are they in collusion as well?

On your actually post, you should note that we didn’t ‘Hoof Adams out’ he left of his own accord and has since been quoted as saying he “should have left after La Manga”. Sure he took some abuse, so does virtually every manager that exists, even Fergie and Wenger are currently receiving it at various levels, but the difference is he knew it was the right decision. As for the rest it is just your opinion re the quality of players, that doesn’t make it a fact and as for the team falling away in the second half, don’t make me laugh it was Adam’s trademark (err 4-3 Wolves)

Even if you were correct about Adams being hoofed out and with Levein not producing results doesn’t mean Adams departure was wrong it just means neither of them were/are providing the solution.

Finally, as a moderator and someone whose only association with LCFC is to have been a supporter with an 80% attendance record for more than 40 years I totally resent your implication of collusion with LCFC – even so it were true it would more acceptable than your anti-LCFC “Who's for cheering on the Covscum?” Saying some others did it when Adam’s was here doesn’t make it right for you to repeat it either.

Frankly if you don’t like what you see on this website, and boy do you see some strange things you don’t have to stay.

By the way you have no right to a freedom of expression on this forum, you are accepted as a member and have to abide by the forum rules, the owner has every right to refuse or accept any application for membership and to delete posts, suspend/ban people as and when the need arises.

Of course you’re always welcome to stay and put your own views across but the next time you feel like writing what amounts to libellous insinuations I suggest you think twice others may not be quite so forgiving.

What a ****. Don't bother going, the team could do without "support" like yours.

well said mate

I doubt that many forum posters have any idea how difficult it is to maintain a comment website like this - keeping it free from libellous, slanderous and socially/politically unacceptable remarks.

Nor is it any good people talking about blanket freedom of speech when the people who are supposed to be policing what's written are just as likely to be taken to the courtroom cleaners as the scribe him/herself.

Personally, given the parameters we would all have to accept, I think the forum encourages a pretty fair, reasonable and widely-based debate and I certainly think the moderating team deserve to be commended for their efforts (on everyone's behalf) rather than being subject to a public pillorying.

I suppose it's rather like managing a football club really, dead easy in theory but not half so simple when you actually try to do it.

I suppose that is why, although scathingly critical of Levein at times, I'd actually rather support him and see him do well than the opposite.

The same goes for Leicester City and the same goes for this forum.

Don't let em get to you Davieg. Most of us, I am quite confident, think you and the rest of the team are doing fine and actually appreciate your efforts.

Furthermore I cannot recall any of my well-meant but considerable criticisms of LCFC ever being red-penned so "in the club's pocket" if definitely ain't. I actually believe Foxestalk to be an excellent barometer for the club's performance.

Sorry 'Nutty' (like the username - but its significance is completely lost on the Philistines on here) but I couldn't bring myself to roar on Coventry even with Adams at the helm. And for the record, whilst I certainly will give him a big hand (er more a polite meeting of the palms in the West Stand Library) I certainly would not want him back at The Walkers. Time to move on.

Your questions about the real nature of this forum and any possible relationship with LCFC are perfectly reasonable however. And it appears that some of the 'powers that be' around here are a little coy about answering them.

So come on now, don't be shy, answer the man's questions.

It's not a fact. It's seen before and relegation is not something that should be treated lightly. CL needs to show he has the capability to turn things round. The board will probably sack him no later than January if he doesn't improve our current position markedly me thinks...

It's clear we need a source of inspiration to turn things around and that will most definitely not come from CL, so we either have to hope for (a) certain player(s) to start producing very good displays, a sudden increase in fan support or a change in manager <_<
