Wymsey Posted 14 January 2019 Posted 14 January 2019 Just informing everyone that I just received the above email claiming there's a payment issue over my TV licence, which is personally false as normally pay it in full each April. It contained the following (obviously won't include the link they included as it's a scam.): 'Oops! Something went wrong with your payment. We're sorry to let you know that the TVLicense could not be automatically renewed. Renew your licence before it expires on 16 January 2018 to remain legally licensed. If you don't keep up with your payments, we may be forced to cancel your licence or pass your details to a debt collection agency.' Read that there's been thousands of complaints to Ofcom about this type of email recently, and hence advise to ignore it..
MikeyT Posted 14 January 2019 Posted 14 January 2019 I get them almost every day and ignore them. Been going on for weeks with me even after I block them.
mozartfox Posted 14 January 2019 Posted 14 January 2019 I often listen to Radio Leicester on my I-Phone in Austria. Do I need to buy a license? If so, Stringer can Fuchs off.
VLC86 Posted 14 January 2019 Posted 14 January 2019 I had some Nigerian prince wanting to marry me and turned out to be bullshit, looked well legit as well. Foomin.
tom27111 Posted 14 January 2019 Posted 14 January 2019 If you're stupid enough to fall for this, you deserve it.
Legend_in_blue Posted 14 January 2019 Posted 14 January 2019 We're stupid enough as a nation to continue to willingly pay it. Needs axing.
Parafox Posted 15 January 2019 Posted 15 January 2019 I had one of these a few weeks ago. I almost fell for it. Luckily, when I hovered the mouse over the link, the address in the address bar showed it was to some dance school in London. Just Google it and you'll see loads of stuff all about it.
