The whole world smiles Posted 9 September 2019 Posted 9 September 2019 7 quid to park in Salford? For that You could buy a house outright round there and use the garage.
HighPeakFox Posted 9 September 2019 Posted 9 September 2019 I'll be driving to one of the tram stops south of Old Trafford....I believe some of them have free parking.

The Year Of The Fox Posted 10 September 2019 Posted 10 September 2019 We parked in Stafford Quarter car park- 2 min walk from Altrincham tram station which is a 15 ride to Old Trafford

Also true, but not direct, and I've a feeling that the tram might be less busy coming from the south. The A555 extension has now made getting to stops like Navigation Road very easy.
grobyfox1990 Posted 10 September 2019 Posted 10 September 2019 Always loads of free parking on the streets surrounding various metro stations, then get a metro in to Trafford bar. So easy. £7 is a total rip off.
HighPeakFox Posted 10 September 2019 Posted 10 September 2019 The closest tram stops are either Exchange Quay (Eccles line) or Old Trafford (surprise surprise).
boots60 Posted 10 September 2019 Posted 10 September 2019 The only problem with the tram is the horrendous queue to get anywhere near the metro station after the game. Allow at least an hour.

Winchesterfox Posted 10 September 2019 Posted 10 September 2019 Southbound is better than towards the city centre, but you still get caught up with the home fans going back to Surrey. Trafford Bar is only about a ten minute walk away and a good alternative
grobyfox1990 Posted 10 September 2019 Posted 10 September 2019 Trafford bar is not bad at all for queues.
