MP Deselection

Recommended Posts

Does anybody know if there is a list of MPs who were deselected for not voting according to their constituents wishes during the Brexit referendum?

if we could find some way for my local MP (Andrew Bridgen) to not only be deselected, but also publicly flogged - that'd be great.

dont know about a list of defrocked MP's though.

GIven that our MP the Rt Hon Sir Alan Duncan has stepped down, it would be interesting to see who will be the candidate to replace him in Rutland and Melton.

Did hear a rumour that Boris might be parachuted in to this safe Tory seat...

Next Thursday is the deadline for the nomination of candidates, so we should know soon.

The Wiki entry for candidates in Johnson's current seat (Uxbridge) doesn't list him yet.

I see a Brexit Party candidate is nominated there. I did cherish a hope that Farage might be bluffing about not standing - and would stand against Boris, where he stands. That would be fun! lol

The Rutland & Melton entry on Wiki is intriguing....Tory candidate to be announced tomorrow, it seems....

Next United Kingdom general election: Rutland and Melton
Party Candidate Votes % ±
  Brexit Party Jim Bennett[3]
  Conservative TBA (8 November)
  Liberal Democrat Dr. Carol Weaver[4][5]

If Boris stands in Melton, a day-trip from Leicester might be on, with a bucket full of Melton Mowbray pork pies, marinated overnight in Everard's Tiger, for delivery with my throwing arm to give him a proper Leicestershire welcome.

We live in this area and our labrador dog is the new Tory candidate. He only needs a blue rosette and he should get in by a large margin. Many people in the constituencey would vote Tory even if they said they were going to euthanise all the over 60s. No need to count the votes just put them all in barrows. Shame they can't mix big rural areas with inner city ones and have just one MP representing both. Know it wouldn't work but it really works against democracy when so many seats are so safe be it Tory or labour.

Well at least he would be well informed as the local MP.

To be fair, that would get my vote

Oy, youth. I'm 64 next week and very popular with my family and friends. You'd lose at least 7 votes.

I assumed there weren't any elderly ambulance drivers tbf. At his age he should be in the back more often than behind the wheel. Decrepit.

I'm not an "elderly ambulance driver" I'm an elderly PARAMEDIC. Show some respect you dog:P. Anyway, you'll be relieved to know I mainly drive the response cars at high speed through the city traffic except when I'm pitch-side para at the KP (and other places I'd rather not mention).

Also, I've never had an accident in 33 years service, although I've seen a few in my rear view mirror.
