Libertine Posted 3 November 2005 Posted 3 November 2005 I thought I'd make a thread on it seeing as it's not that far away. What are you getting for your friends and family? Are you stuck on what the hell to get for someone and need help? What would you like yourself this year? Or do you just wish that it all blows over very quickly?

Are you stuck on what the hell to get for someone and need help? What would you like yourself this year? Or do you just wish that it all blows over very quickly? I passed by Melton Road today and I thought it looked nice, with all the lights on. It made me ALMOST look forward to Christmas!!! My family are not here, so I don't have that problem of what to buy them However, if anyone is interested in finding the cheapest / best phone (or phone deal) using a GOOD comparison website, I would recommend this one: Mobile Comparison Website I have just got myself a Sony Ericsson k608i (bluetooth etc) on 3 for just 60 pounds total yearly cost after cashback (500 x-net minutes and 100 SMS a month). And it's a good phone!
Libertine Posted 3 November 2005 Author Posted 3 November 2005 For the Dad you could get a CD or a book, maybe an autobiography of a sportsperson, if he likes reading of course. For the Mum, you could get some item of clothing or perfume. <_<

I find it really hard to think of presents for others. I'd love to get something more personal but I can never find anything. Does anyone else leave everything to the last minute like me?
cisono Posted 3 November 2005 Posted 3 November 2005 I find it really hard to think of presents for others. I'd love to get something more personal but I can never find anything. The best way of finding presents for others is having the relevant gift-finding skill ! Failing that, take note when they mention something they like (months before you need to buy them a present) ... or alternatively when you know they bought something and you see something else that could go with that (accessories etc)... that is a possible present for them. (hope that makes sense)
The People's Hero Posted 3 November 2005 Posted 3 November 2005 I would like to receive.... A wine rack A bar butler A small, self contained ice maker A silver ring Some new belts Nice (fountain) pen

Rincewind Posted 3 November 2005 Posted 3 November 2005 I've about bought all my prezzies which is unusual cos my family usualy get them in January. I've mostly got books. Bridge, Poker, Seduku and bumper IQ quiz/puzzle book and a CD of Ricky Tomlinson (Life story) Just got my neices and nephews to do and being teenagers their favourite band will change from week to week so it may be cash or tokens for them. For myself I don't ask for anything but World peace and a end to poverty. Failing that I'll have a laptop for starters.
The People's Hero Posted 4 November 2005 Posted 4 November 2005 I thought you'd gone for the night??!!?!?!? Yeah I thought I had too! Don't remember posting it... I was obviously really desperate to receive those gifts at the time so made a special effort to post. Also, I'm going now because I'm at work and feel I should actually do some work. Have a good day, y'all. Can't believe I just said y'all.
Guest Posted 4 November 2005 Posted 4 November 2005 I would like a Lotto Rollover jackpot winning ticket. The only one would be nice.
Alexikokopops Posted 4 November 2005 Posted 4 November 2005 Our whole family (including cousins and aunties and uncles and the like) are in Australia for Christmas to see relatives we got there, so we're doing some kind of secret Santa thing so everyone don't have to buy everyone a gift. Dunno what I'm getting anyone though.
Nationwider Posted 4 November 2005 Posted 4 November 2005 I'd like a new car please, rather than the rattling, clanking embarrassment that I've got at the moment.
