Sly Posted 7 November 2005 Posted 7 November 2005 Why I can't knock Hume's workrate the guy just isn't a goalscorer. His record in the lower leagues points to this. (Altough its a damm sight better than Hammonds who couldn't hit a barn never mind the barn door)
Ric Flair Posted 7 November 2005 Posted 7 November 2005 Why I can't knock Hume's workrate the guy just isn't a goalscorer. His record in the lower leagues points to this. (Altough its a damm sight better than Hammonds who couldn't hit a barn never mind the barn door) Hume scored 16 last season. The seasons before he wasn't prolific but last season has showed that he can score goals. Paul Dickov never scored goals at all until he came to us and certainly not at premiership level but now he scores a fair few. I think Hume has the potential to score 15-20 goals in this league, it's quite a poor standard in this league and there are alot of crapper players than Hume who have scored 20 goals a season in this league. Richard Cresswell and Paul Furlong being two of them!
lcfcsoul66 Posted 7 November 2005 Author Posted 7 November 2005 Sylla's 20 yarder in the first minute wasn't on target then? Dublin's bullet header from a corner wasn't on target then? Naaah didn't think so either. I didn't see Smith get muscled off the ball once, everytime he had it he either made a decent pass to our players who ****ed it up or took some players on. Calm down! I don't think you understand the term 'On Target' in which the ball has to be saved by the Keeper or hit the post or bar. Dublin's header went wide i'll think you'll find! As for Smith don't get too attached cos if he's as good as everyone keeps saying Arsenal will have him back just like they took Kevin Campbell back when he came to us in the 80's. An it was a boring game! What are you on about? 'Why go to the game if your gonna look for negatives?' I'll say what i like i've being going down for 25 years an this is the worst team i've ever seen.

lcfcsoul66 Posted 7 November 2005 Author Posted 7 November 2005 In some respects Yes. In others No! (Excuse me why i sit on the Fence!) I would have Heath, Nalis, Gillespie and Scowy back. I'd just like us to try harder! We never come away from a game saying "****ing Hell the opposition were brilliant" its always "We were Shit today" It's a poor league an i think we could beat anyone in it if we just get on with it!
Gené and Tonic Posted 7 November 2005 Posted 7 November 2005 I have critisised Levein, but out of those players you listed the only player I would consider having back is Gillespie.
SIRFOOT Posted 7 November 2005 Posted 7 November 2005 So Micky Adams team was better was it? well yeh it was because it got us promoted and we did reasonably well in the prem with no money to spend.
Gené and Tonic Posted 7 November 2005 Posted 7 November 2005 We got relegated so we didn't do too well!
SIRFOOT Posted 7 November 2005 Posted 7 November 2005 We got relegated so we didn't do too well! i meant considering the cirsumstances. no money to spend and the La Manga incident.
Louise Posted 7 November 2005 Posted 7 November 2005 Dublin's header went wide i'll think you'll find! Dublin's header and follow up shot were both saved by Niemi. They were not going wide.
Louise Posted 7 November 2005 Posted 7 November 2005 well yeh it was because it got us promoted and we did reasonably well in the prem with no money to spend. I think you'll find Micky signed only two of the players in the side that got us promoted, that was more a Peter Taylor team than it was a Micky Adams one.
Manwell Pablo Posted 7 November 2005 Posted 7 November 2005 I think you'll find Micky signed only two of the players in the side that got us promoted, that was more a Peter Taylor team than it was a Micky Adams one. a little sprinkle of Harry Basset as well.
Gené and Tonic Posted 8 November 2005 Posted 8 November 2005 lightly seasoned with a dash of O'Neill.
