lcfcsoul66 Posted 7 November 2005 Author Posted 7 November 2005 Q: Who cares? A: Not me. Well if i your a Leicester fan i would! he's one of the best player's we've got! I mean come off it Hammond's not likely to score and is a bad buy! Hume gives 100% an could be the answer to are lack of bottle.
City_4_Life Posted 7 November 2005 Posted 7 November 2005 Hume gives 100% an could be the answer to are lack of bottle. He might give 100% but he also has had alot of chances to score and he aint taking them. He is a good player but from what i have seen so far from him he looks like he aint a very good goalscorer and thats waht we need at the moment.

That's down to confidence and the pressure he's putting himself under, he knows he's only got limited chances to prove himself before he gets dropped for Elvis. That showed by the 25 yard effort he had which blazed over, when he was at Tranmere he'd hit the target with atleast half of his long range efforts and he was so annoyed with himself after he hit that shot. He'll come good i'm sure of it. It's good to hear Levein is trying to bring another striker in.

I can think of millions of worst games i've been to.
lcfcsoul66 Posted 7 November 2005 Author Posted 7 November 2005 What you drinking? It was woeful. What did Smith do that made it interesting he was mussled out of it for the most part. We didn't have a shot on target till the 89th minute! If that wasn't boring you must lead the life of a Monk!

TAFKA Castroneves Posted 7 November 2005 Posted 7 November 2005 The thing to remember I think is that Elvis has shown himself to also be very compitant down the right flank, so with the hopeful arrival of a new striker he could be used more ofton down there and also as another backup, with that versatility he is a useful player and in my view a good signing. Hume has talent but he just needs (like De Vries did for a while) to find the back of the net so that he can hit his potential.
The People's Hero Posted 7 November 2005 Posted 7 November 2005 1) It was boring 2) To say that Hume's finishing is poor and that's why he's behind Hammond in the pecking order is ridiculous. Hammond's finishing and shooting in general seems to be pretty woeful.

When Hume does get 1 or 2 more goals then it will boost his confidence and he will score more. I also think that Hume (when he gets scoring) and De Vries will become a vital partnership for us.
The People's Hero Posted 7 November 2005 Posted 7 November 2005 Hume is never going to be prolific. What he will do though is give 100%, do lots of running, scream for the ball and shoot with conviction. Hammond does none of these things, seemingly happy to be marked throughout the game.

He also likes to be caught offside alot! <_<

I agree, Hume at Tranmere was never prolific he's not a natural striker, he will provide alot of pace and conviction which will create opportunities for others to benefit and score! Hammond looks very poor as a striker, he possibly may end up playing as a winger!! CL has thus far concentrated on making city hard to beat and is big on defensive football, this hasn't made a city a very attractive team to watch but I hope CL, now that he has sorted out the defence will concentrate on the attacking aspects of city's game!!

We didn't have a shot on target till the 89th minute! If that wasn't boring you must lead the life of a Monk! Sylla's 20 yarder in the first minute wasn't on target then? Dublin's bullet header from a corner wasn't on target then? Naaah didn't think so either. I didn't see Smith get muscled off the ball once, everytime he had it he either made a decent pass to our players who ****ed it up or took some players on.
Sly Posted 7 November 2005 Posted 7 November 2005 Saturdays game wasn't even the worst this season. Can anyone tell me why everyone wants Hume in the team?? He ain't impressed me at all to be honest. The guy has a touch of a baby elephant and shoots like it to!!!
Katy Posted 7 November 2005 Posted 7 November 2005 Its a bit harsh bringing him on about 10 minutes before the end of most games and expecting him to be the clubs top goal scorer. I think we will see a different Iain Hume if he gets a proper (and I mean a proper not just one game and then dropped to the bench again) run in the team.

If he does get a run in the team he will be awesome for us, the only bad t5hing is he always seems to start a game and then a blooming cup match follows!

Mainly Coffee at the moment, Maxwell house to be precise, buy one get one free from Morrisons......I had Dennis Wise warm up right in front of me and managed to catch his eye and give him some shit! Smith was giving me a personal lap dance on the right wing, it doesn't get much better TBH. It's always a pleasure to watch Dion take the piss as well. Why go to the game if your gonna look for negatives? I bloody loved it!

He ain't impressed me at all to be honest. The guy has a touch of a baby elephant and shoots like it to!!! I want him in the team because he's better than de Vries, Elvis and Dublin. I also want him in the team because his enthusiasm and character give the team a life. I want him in the team because the majority of the games i've seen him in except against Preston he's looked very dangerous. I want him in the team because he never gives up. Basically I want him in the team.

wirralsimon Posted 7 November 2005 Posted 7 November 2005 I think it's nvery hard to judge Hume on his performances to date as he will never establish the confidence he needs in a series of 10-15 minute cameos. While Elvis is a hard woprker and bags of pace, he does struggle to hit a cows *rse with a banjo when it comes to shooting, so I would like to see Hume get a decent run in the side, maybe with Elvis being moved out to the wing.
