There’s these two switches on the wall by the side of the radiator so assume I just switch them off and also isolate the heaters on the main circuit board before swapping over?

 

 

 

 

P.S. It's a 1700w radiator and there's a 13amp fuse in the right switch so assume I just leave that as is?

You need to isolate those switches at the main board (fuse box/consumer unit) and test the switch (the one with the fuse on the right in your picture) to make sure it is not live. 
If the one you’re replacing is also 1700w then there shouldn’t be an issue leaving as is. 
If you’re in any doubt about doing it, don’t take a risk, electricity kills.

You’re fine to wire it back in to the one one the right, check the fuse matches the same as the one on the plug and you’ll be fine.

Like I said earlier, plumbing and electrics are my worst nightmare, but I'm more comfortable shutting off power and making electric changes than I am shutting down the water and getting a leak!

Yeah mate, it’s pretty good.

I’ve lost a fair bit of interest in the football these days, hence the absence.

Plus I’m very busy at work, so I can’t be wasting as much time as I used to able to.

I've decided to give it a go myself tomorrow  

 

We've just put our house back on the market and if we get any viewings this week the main room will be freezing so I need to get it done ASAP.

 

If I fvck it up or it doesn't work then I'll let you and take you up on your offer - and pay you for your time.

 

And if I electrocute myself and die in the process, it's been nice knowing you all

Yeah it’s been rough but it’s not the only reason I’ve lost interest. I used to go with my dad, watch and talk football with him every day and since he passed, I’ve not really got that anymore.

My kids aren’t interested and I work on my own, so it’s just petered a bit.

No doubt I’ll get it back at some point.

I've managed to drag my stepson down to our level and saved him from a so called 'big' team.
