Some of these posts were included in the other thread. However, they may have got lost in the other posts. 

 

Entry Requirements 

Denmark’s COVID restrictions are largely relaxed now. Airports still require facemasks and private businesses can have their own rules. https://en.coronasmitte.dk/rules-and-regulations

 

There is no need for any testing in relation to entry if you are one of the following:-

·       Double vaccinated 

·       Proof of recovery from covid at least 11 days after positive test until 180 days of positive test.

Travel

Four possible airports can get you into Randers on Wednesday/Thursday. All times via road 

·       Aarhus – to Randers, 42 mins / to Aarhus, 36mins 

-       Taxi from airport to city expected to cost £45

-       Bus service runs according to the plane timetable / therefore it will be waiting until its full or majority full. 

 

·       Billund – to Randers, 1hr 19 mins / to Aarhus, 1hr 1mins

-       A bus service runs from Billund Airport to Aarhus - https://www.midttrafik.dk/media/23129/912_k21-final-a.pdf

 

·       Aalborg – to Randers, 1hr / to Aarhus, 1hr 23mins

-       Best route appears Aalborg Airport to Aarhus/Randers via train - runs at 26 minutes past the hour.  There is a bus to Aalborg town which you can then connect onto a train but much easier to take one of the direct trains from the airport.

 

·       Copenhagen – to Randers, 3hrs 15/ to Aarhus 2hrs 54mins

-       Route 1, Train – normal price of £50 – direct from/to Randers & Aarhus inc. Copenhagen Airport. Some discounted fares known as ‘Orange’ are available in advance

-       Flixbus - a bus service which goes completely by land with multiple stop-offs £12-15

-       Kombardo Expressen - bus service which combines ferry/bus at £10-20, direct service. 3 and 25 minutes journey.

Base to Randers

The vast majority are staying in Aarhus, Denmark’s second city given it’s proximity to Randers and lively nightlife. Vince Noir has done an excellent post – which is below listing pubs, restaurants and attractions. 

 

Ticket Collection – Hotel Randers, Torvegade 11, 8900 Randers, Denmark – 1000 to 1600

 

Trains to Randers (from Aarhus) run at 20 past and 50 past every hour. 

The return is hourly from 2101 until 0101. It’s £12 per journey and 35 minutes. 

 

Randers street of bars is Storegarde. 

 

It will be one of the biggest occasions for the city. So I think we can expect the locals to be very friendly.

A local's guide to Aarhus @VinceNoir

 

Where to drink:

 

- Mig og Ølsnedkeren. Lovely little craft beer bar where there’s always a tasty selection on tap. I'm properly into craft beer and I love this place.

- ÅBEN. Another craft beer bar, but a bit different than the first. Very Nordic. Decent selection of beers and nice girls. 

- Golden Lion. Classic English pub. The only place in town I was able to watch LCFC games back in the Championship days, so I have a soft spot for it even though it is a bit rough these days.

- Peter Gift. Small pub right near the WakeUp hotel where I imagine many of you will be staying. It's a decent little spot. 

- Tir Na Nog. Biggest Irish pub in town. They show all kinds of sports and offer a decent selection of pints and whisky. 
- La Cabra. Best coffee in town! At night, it turns into a bar where you can get natural wine, lambic beers etc. 

- Again, regarding craft beer, if you want a few delicious tins for the hotel or whatnot, head to Væskebalancen, Erlings Flaskebutik, or TidensFarver. If you're into your standard Tuborgs, you'll get a six-pack for around 35-40 DKK at every supermarket. 
 

Where to eat:

 

- Aarhus Street Food. Don’t be scared off by the name - it’s indoors. Great selection of food and decent little beer and cocktail places. Easy option if you’re not sure what you want or if you want a little bit of everything.
- Il Locale. Best pizza in town imo. 

- Burger Shack. Great burger joint located just opposite the aforementioned Tir Na Nog. 
- Rådhuscafeen. The place to go if you want some classic Danish dishes. May need to book in advance. Great location in the centre of town. 
- Can Blau. Great tapas option. Quite pricy though. 

- Domestic. If you want to go all in and eat 12 tiny dishes and fork out your life savings!
 

What to do:

 

- AROS. Excellent art museum with a great view of the city from the rainbow on the roof.

- Den Gamle By. A glimpse into historical Aarhus, if you’re into that kind of stuff. 
- Dyrehaven. A little walk out of town, but once you’re there it’s worth it. Basically just a park where deer roam freely. It can be a nice experience for couples and families alike. It’s free too. 
- Aarhus Ø. This is the new “trendy” area of the town, located by the harbour. I’ve not been much myself, since I live in the outskirts of Aarhus now, but it’s supposed to be good. 
- Latinerkvarteret. Nice area in the town centre with a bunch of charming little shops and cafes incl. the aforementioned ÅBEN and La Cabra. 

 

Good to know: 

 

- As of February 1st, there are no more COVID restrictions in Denmark. I believe we're the first country in the EU to lift restrictions. No masks, no "corona passports", and all the freedom in the world to hug and kiss people. 

- Trains to Randers take about 30 minutes and shouldn't be any trouble on matchday. Trains will likely not be packed, but obviously depends on when you travel. People in Aarhus do not support Randers, so can't imagine there will be football fans. 

- On that note, the local sports team is AGF. They play in the top Danish league. On the Friday after the Randers match, they have an away match against Vejle (45 mins away by train). Getting away tickets in Denmark is much easier than in the UK, so I imagine some of you could go to that if you want more football. 

- Don't expect trouble. Everyone in Aarhus will welcome the Leicester fans and I expect it'll be the same in Randers, too. I'll imagine journalists will be out in force in Randers to interview you for local newspapers. Leicester coming Randers is a massive deal over here. 

 

I think that's about everything for now. Just PM me if you need any info. Also, I'd love to meet up with you all either on the Wednesday or Thursday  Leicester fans will probably never be in my town again, so I wanna make the most of it! Have a great trip, everybody.

See Randers F C are showing the game on a big screen free of charge at Randers arena I assume Leicester fans without tickets can get tickets for this showing.

Is there a requirement for a PLF form to be filled out before entering Denmark? 
 

Also, to clarify, no test required pre and post UK arrival? Even for non-vaxxed?

Nothing required for entry into Denmark other than proof of vaccination or recovery.

 

UK entry the same with the exception of having to fill the passenger form in which you don't need for Denmark.

you need a ticket but they are free from the homepage and the venue is right next to the stadium
