Sky suggesting whilst £70m quoted it was structured as £60m with £10m add on's but the fee was unlikely to hit the full £70m total because the additional fees have been described as "ambitious" targets

They obviously don't really want him

they're just seeing what they can get away with and how much our resolve can be tested

Knob.

Who? Fofana or Romano? Or both?

I reckon Romano has become part of Team Unsettle Wes. I wonder how much Chelsea are paying him to continue his obsession?

Edit: methinks the intermediary of who Romano speaks could be none other than Romano himself.

Regardless of what’s happened (and I do agree with you), Fofana’s camp are to blame for the leak, not necessarily the lad himself.

If someone said to me, would you leave your job and come and work for my company for £100k a year, I’d say yes. Whether my current employer would let me leave would be another matter.

I get your point but if your current employer said they’ll double your pay and guarantee that for 5 years, regardless of performance, if you agree not to leave, it’s a different matter.

If he thinks he's so good , how come it's chelsea he dreams of? Could it be that the real big clubs , Man city or Liverpool , Man united, PSG , or Real madrid, have not even sniffed at him? I think you are getting ambition mixed up with ability son.

The biggest problem in all this is that the player himself seems to think that's what makes it official.

Amazing that the national media aren't criticising him for his actions either.

Thank you for detailing the rules which prevent clubs conducting negotiations with players outside of the correct (legal?) channels.

Were you indulging in sarcasm in the latter statement? If you were then this is just a reminder to fellow posters of the venal nature of journalism (especially the Reach group).

Inevitably, this kind of story is meat to the mincer with the London-based 'national' press. It sells to a goodly proportion of those supporting Chelsea and those who like football gossip. It also is read by City fans fretting and raging about yet one more potential transfer swoop and coup on our currently mismanaged and rudderless team.

As for Fofana, we honoured him with the soubriquet 'Little Wes'. Seems, as with Tielemans, we chose to ignore the more mercenary side of their natures. For them City is, as Jack Walker put it, just another 'golden tit' to suck at...until a shinier one appears on the horizon.

There's a long way to go for Fofana if his dreams are so bounden to fame and fortune. Loyalty, patience and gratitude are also factors which round off a personality. Chelsea have lost interest - indicative of their collective and questionable morality. Now Fofana has to find a way back in to our affections. That'll be the day.

when i messaged that initially, Fofana had barely been criticised. He's been given his fair share since then, now that the sitiuation has come more to light. It does seem that Chelsea are about to land him. i wish nothing but sucess to reach all teh potential add ons quickly and then abject failure beyond that
