I think this was what the majority of fans wanted, something coming out of the club advising what is going on. Seems they are hoping we have enough quality to be OK this season then getting back on the front foot again next summer, though this is football so best laid plans and all that!

It's all very well making short term tough decisions, but the progress on the commercial revenue won't look very good when you're in the championship....

It's a gamble.

It's is but with only 14 more league games, before the winter window he can reassess and may have to splash the cash.

Does anyone remember that one liner from Brendan once where he said he’d advised the club to increase their revenue streams? What, you mean like has always been the long term plan? lol

This just makes me love him more.  So many onwers stay silent and let fans lose their minds. He's come out and addressed situations head on.

They've given us our best memories....the family deserve our gratitude and trust.

Exactly! Short term pain, long term gain!

This I surely what we knew all along so no surprises. We have great owners who have stuck by us and delivered memorable moments whilst helping the community. Given the nature of their business interests they must have taken a massive hit over the last couple of years. Time for us to stand by them.

Wonder what this summer's window means for our ability to sign players in January/next summer then? I know it's not comparable but after spending just £25m last summer Newcastle were able to spend £83m in January and £123m this summer.

Not expecting the same level of spending but some statement signings would be nice

Can't see any change in January. If we are still at the bottom then we might have to sell Maddison to raise some money to get one or two in but as far as I understand until we get rid of the high earners the wages are still far too high to income generated to be comfortable and a drop down would be financial ruin in terms of bringing players in as we lose a lot out of contract but they actually raise no money on departure.

As to next summer it will depend what league we are in. Even if we stay up I can see one of Barnes or Maddison being sold and possibly Catagne, they are about our only valuable assets now.

Honestly I would be so sad if he had to sell the club. It has been amazing having the family own the club.

I have never been so proud to say I am Leicester fan.

We have become a family all together with them.

Hopefully they can get some investment if it’s financial issues rather than Top just wanting out.

Nice to have a bit of communication, been sorely lacking but of course probably couldn’t expect it until now.

However let’s have some consistency in the message. One minute it’s compliance with the rules and the next minute is that they’ve always wanted to run the club sustainably.

The rules don’t equal sustainability. Therefore, is the message that they were willing to run the club in a way that is now deemed unsustainable until the rules told them they weren’t? We probably know the answer so let’s give the pat ourselves on the back about sustainability a miss.

I remember we got shafted by the rule change in the Championship cos we’d committed to a spend before the rules came in that then the rules. Same has happened here. Similar transfer window in 13/14 too.

Also interesting about the stadium that I hadn’t really twigged with before. If the revenue forecasts had the revenue from that in for 24/25 and it won’t now come until 25/26, that affects what you can commit to this season.

I honestly think he could be doing exactly that. Hence sticking with Dodgers, not reinvesting in players, not being present at games.

On the surface it looks like plans could be afoot to ship out.
