1971 Charity shield

Hi there, I am wondering if anyone on here has a copy of the 1971 Charity shield between Leicester and Liverpool. My brother and I were staying with our Uncle and Auntie and it was the first game of proper football we had ever seen. I know the game was on the Big Match the following day but am struggling to find where to get a dvd or video. If anyone on here has a copy or knows someone who has I would be more than happy to pay.

Me neither.

 

Way before my time, but I knew we'd won it that year. 

 

We've got a great record in Charity/Community Shields. 2 out of 3 ain't bad.

 

Especially when you consider we've faced Liverpool, Man Utd and Man City!

Difficult to tell from that camera shot, but I'm assuming Larry Lloyd is playing Whitworth on as the pass is played.

No, I meant when he scored, he was standing on the line when Fern played it forward!

Did Fern play it or was it off the defender? There was also a red shirt on the line and the keeper by the time that Whitworth touched it. Level was OK back then.

Level was offside back then. But who cares? Liverpool have got plenty of dodgy decisions to make up for it in the 50+ years since.

I thought it was off Fern, and when he played it Whitworth was beyond the keeper, mind you the video is heavily pixelated!

 

I'm sure we'll get away with it! It just tickled me as wasn't it Whitworth's only ever goal for us? To win a trophy? And it looked off-side!

Looked OK to me but I was in the Kop.
