Our decline was so easy to see coming.

We have all lived through declines in LCFC before, its nothing new in our yoyo club. I enjoyed the struggles of the great escape season where although were were getting beat every week we were playing exciting suicide football. Today, we get beat every week and its a bore fest. This decline feels different, I've never known the games to be so consistently really boring. Our passing is poor. Our interplay non existent. Its tippy tappy give away, run back pick the ball out the net and start again. The last game I watched was the Tottenham game thankfully.

When we were in the 3rd tier I used to always watch the games and the quality of players wasn't as good but the endeavour and excitement was on a completely different level to the current 11 players who don't seem to actually train together. I'm not sure yet if I'll bother watching the Southampton game. I think that has bore fest written all over it.

We don't though. Every now and then we bang in a few goals and win. Just often enough to make us think 'if we put together a few results like that...'

 

Maybe that makes it worse, that occasional tiny bit of hope. Perhaps unmitigated crap would actually be easier to cope with. Although now I stop to remember the (many) times we have been unmitigated crap, it isn't easier at all, it's just depressing...
