Rincewind Posted 1 December 2005 Posted 1 December 2005 Had my first Royal Flush today It was only on the lowest stakes table but i was pleased. Must have won about 3 dollars. Wow I hear you say. Can't retire on my winnings yet.
SystonFox Posted 1 December 2005 Posted 1 December 2005 excuse me for being ignorant but howcome Poker is so popular all of a sudden? its like the "cool" thing to be doing. my missus' brother plays it every friday with his workmates , he invited me but i declined as i just dont get it.
Stuliasz Posted 1 December 2005 Posted 1 December 2005 I have only gotten into Poker at the start of this year and realised what a quality game it is. You can play for low stakes and still win plenty of money if you are good enough. The best thing is there are so many idiots play, it is easy to take money off them. I find it is also such a good game that you can play for play money and still enjoy it just because of the quality of the game.
The People's Hero Posted 1 December 2005 Posted 1 December 2005 I play quite often these days. I believe myself to be quite good at it. Having said that, it could be that all my mates are awful.
Lukeh Posted 1 December 2005 Posted 1 December 2005 Ye everyone at my college plays it now, i was in a hand today and got 2 pairs!!!
Durnerz Posted 1 December 2005 Posted 1 December 2005 I used to play all the time before my Poker buddies went off to Uni. Nice one on that Running Flush Kennuth, should have gone all in mate.
Head Honcho Posted 1 December 2005 Posted 1 December 2005 I do play but still prefer to go down the Casino and play Blackjack Anyone been to Vegas if not make it a New Years Resolution to go next year. You can get Rat-Arsed in the Casino Betting Hall for the price of a couple of bets ($5) and a dollar tip for each round, then hit the clubs.

They are so strict on ID as well

Samu Posted 1 December 2005 Posted 1 December 2005 Yeh forgot to mention no good if your under 21. Still a cracking place just no gambling and drinking. Where did you stay? We stayed at the Monte Carlo hotel...was very nice. It was also quite cheap, cheaper than I'd expected. We did the whole California, Nevada, Arizona tour. Where did you stay?

We had 4 day's in San Francisco 4 in Las Vegas(Caesars Palace)and a week in Miami, Unfortunately visited Miami during the hip-hop week they hold there every year it was mayhem(I hate Hip-Hop), but got to met Allen Iverson(Basketball God) and Deep Dish(DJ's) as they were staying in our hotel.
Rincewind Posted 1 December 2005 Author Posted 1 December 2005 I used to play all the time before my Poker buddies went off to Uni. Nice one on that Running Flush Kenneth, should have gone all in mate. Durnerz, it was a fixed limit game. Your money goes further. It is easy to take money off others but only if you play right and follow a set of rules regarding starting hands, table position and odds flop onwards. And of course most important of all, avoid too many of those bad beats on the river.
Guest Posted 1 December 2005 Posted 1 December 2005 Had my first Royal Flush today Have you been looking at those dodgy pics of Princess Anne again?

In No limit I can bully bad players into letting me win hands that I have no right to win and I can draw them into bigger bets when I do have th cards. There is just soooo much more going on inthe betting, makes it a much more skillful game.
