I thought the defence were brilliant. I have been nervous about Doyle recently but last night he was hardly beaten.

7.5 for Hamza seems a touch low. Thought, particularly given its a new role, he was excellent.  Marked Rowe out of the game.

 

Deserves an extra point for putting his meat and two veg on the line to defend a cross.

Hermansen - 9 - Pretty much fautless other that two dodgy passes into Wilf's feet but quickly regained his composure. I honestly think he's going to play in the biggest games for the biggest clubs in the world one day. It already feels like the 5 year deal we've got him on isn't long enough  

 

Faes - 7 - Just solid. Looks a new man under Maresca. Back to pre-World Cup level for me. Just doesn't made daft mistakes any more.

 

Vestergaard - 8 - Backed up his best performance in a Leicester shirt against Southampton with an even better one. If you'd have told me 2 months ago that i'd be chanting his name and not being desperate to see Coady play ahead of him then I wouldn't have believed it. Shows what a bit of man management can have eh Brendan?

 

Doyle - 8 - I would say that was his best game for us in the fact that there were no individual mistakes but retaining the brilliance on the ball. Hopefully he can continue like this.

 

Hamza - 8 - Must admit I was a bit worried about not having Ricardo playing but he was brilliant. Love his tenacity and work rate. Love having him back.

 

Winks - 8 - Just pure class. He's everything Tielemans should have been. Granted he doesn't have Youri's eye for goal but give me Winks every time. Controls the game with ease and gets the team going when it needs to.

 

McAteer - 9 - He is some boy aint he. Can tell he just adores playing football and wearing the City shirt. His eye for goal is properly impressive as well. He's comfortably getting double figures. Loved how hard he worked last night off the ball as well.

 

Casadei - 6 - Thought he was our weakest link but I won't go hard on him because he's only a young lad. Shown enough promise to not get worked up over. If he can realise that he's 6 foot 3 or so and bulk up then I think he'll be a very good footballer. Right now I think he's got a bit of Havertz/Dele Alli syndrome in that if you want to get the best out of him then you've got to build the team up around him.

 

Akgun - 7 - Tidy, worked his arse off and looked good on the ball but couldn't affect the game enough. Don't have anything bad to say about his performance really. He'll have better days in that role.

 

Mavididi - 7 - First half was electric but I thought he tired and was eventually anonymous in the second half. Good play to win the penalty. If he can work on his finishing like Barnes did then he'll be a serious player. Think most of the division will be scared of him.

 

Iheanacho - 6 - Great to see him get off the mark. Thought he really struggled to hold the ball up though. Few occasions he made the wrong decision. Feel like his confidence is or has been very low so hopefully his goal opens the floodgates.

 

Ndidi - 7 - I suppose the window shutting has helped massively but the last two performances in that number 8 role have really shocked me. Looks to have knuckled down. Think he starts in our best XI.

 

KDH - 8 - He's definitely the best 8 we have. Hopefully he can continue to improve his passing and touch. Was brilliant to see him get his head up for the McAteer goal. In times gone by he definitely just shoots. It wouldn't have been a bad option to shoot there but the pass guarantees the goal. Good awareness which has been a criticism i've had of him in the past.

 

Vardy - 6 - Bit like Iheanacho really. He's a good player to bring on because it gets the away fans up and the home fans nervous. Thought the booking was very harsh. Good play in the build up to the McAteer goal.

 

Fatawu - 7 - He's not just the live grenade I thought he was based on his debut. He actually does have a lot of talent. Once he's up to match fitness I think he'll demolish a side and bag himself a couple of goals and assists. Feel for him really because he's perfectly set up two massive chances in the last two games (Iheanacho against Southampton and McAteer against Norwich). The cross field ping was majestic.

 

Justin - 7 - Does feel like he's lost a yard of pace but he's still as good as he was on the ball. Nice to see that he can play the inverted fullback role. He'll have a lot of minutes this season.
