Cricket - Playing

Recommended Posts

Anyone here play cricket?

Played from when I was in primary school but stopped about 8 years a go and not played since. Considering going netting with my old team though and seeing if I can still hold a bat.

I started playing again a couple of years ago, I’m not great but it’s good fun

I fancy playing again just to get back into the team spirit of things.

I run and bike but fancied something more social

Find a Sunday pub team, very good socials.

If I play it will be my old side who I've played for for abut 20 years in total on and off.

Big time commitment on a satdee though but I'm considering giving KPFC up after this season anyway

Played for 30 years but our club folded at the end of the season due to a lack of players.  I'd pretty much stopped playing recently as age, kids and life took over.

Shame for the club though Market Bosworth was a great little team.

Yep. Used to play four times a week, league and friendlies.

Not so much now but do the fixtures secretary job for my Sunday team. If anyone fancies a game this summer, either as a player or an opponent, drop me a DM!

Best sport in the world.

I played from my school years right up until my mid 50s.

My favourite sport. Excellent social side to it as well.
Managed to get picked for the county over 50s. I thought it would be just a laugh.

How wrong was l !? Still a few ex-county players involved…….. Mark Alleyne, Neil Burns, Matthew Maynard.
l stopped about 3 seasons ago. Great times.

Had never played in my life until last year.

Saw a local team’s flyer in a cafe and I turned up at nets to give it ago. I love it.

Probably still one of the worst players but it’s a brilliant sport.

You won’t find a more welcoming game.

Who do you play for?

So the Leicestershire league have voted not to move the start of the season back despite most grounds being far too wet to play on. One of the only counties nit to move back the start.

How are grounds looking guys?

In previous  years would have suggested you would get a game down at Grace Road but thankfully things have improved in the last couple of tears

Do it - sounds like you'd be half decent unlike myself. My play cricket average is 0 from my one appearance a few year's ago for Quorn 3rds lol

It's a very welcoming sport and good for social. Much better vibe than playing local football from my experience

Mate who plays at Sileby told me he reckons they're struggling till mid-May after the flooding.
