I guess some might be, but that is not the point really is it. If the club and its fans wishes to reward loyalty in its away allocation, then the system needs to be robust.

If you wish to discuss stawarding, can I suggest you start a new thread.

You can’t separate the two issues because they play into a factor for one of the big points of the priority points alteration.

It’s the cited reason why the club want to have a percentage of collection. I think there’s a whole raft of issues with that - you’ve pointed out the club may change the return policy but what happens on occasions when the country’s less than reliable transport system fails?

You have to link the two - because if not you are just reactive to an issue and not having a rounded discussion.  This is what the club often do - put a plaster on one thing while it’s bleeding elsewhere

I think there is also an argument that it should include home games

It’s mental that u get 50 away points but 0 home points for having a season ticket. If I gave my season ticket up I wouldn’t be able to get a home ticket even though I’ve had a season ticket since the scheme began

I think one of the main issues with the current system too is right now even when the less pleasant games (southampton newcastle etc) do inevitably make members there’s not even any incentive to do so in terms of moving up the ladder. I went to both this season also united away in the carabao cup and being left with 3 away points feels pretty pointless for such a commitment when there’s happy clappers who won’t go to a single away game sat on 500+ points. Luckily I bloody love doing it

A few seasons ago I bought a ticket for Southampton away, (on a Friday night for God sake), just for the opportunity to get an Away point and drove down in horrendous rain and all the while I was thinking.... 'this better be f****** worth it!"' :@

It was ....  9 - 0 !!! :yahoo:

It was the season before last.  Jim stated at the meeting that during that period,  the points needed to successfully get a ticket did go down,  so did give opportunities to some that would not have legitimately been able to get a ticket.  He didn't say whether there was a reduction in trouble at games,  but did say they did have a number of tickets go completely unused at there were a number  simply not turn up to collect their ticket.  While it would be possible to ban people doing this in future from getting tickets,  its not that easy as people simply come up with "genuine" reasons they may not have been able to collect their ticket.  That's why we need to this to go in step with an away ticket returns policy.  Even that's not foolproof though as some will purchase a ticket with the intention of passing it on,  then simply say they cannot attend once selected for ticket collection.

I seem to remember that when ID checks for away games were last done, those not turning up for collection at the away ground on the day (and I think there were often a fair few)  were contacted later and faced some questions and issues. Clearly it could be for many genuine reasons, but having done it once you’d probably be on the club’s hit list and automatically selected for regular checks for a good while. You could explain away one and probably get away with it, but if it kept happening there would surely be sanctions. So I don’t think the serial sellers of away tickets to others would get away with it for long.

Has anyone else had 50 away points removed randomly?

Yeah.

I'm assuming its because the away priorities are set up for before those 50 points are added, and once they were added, the vast majority of people were in the upper 2 priorities. Usually we renew and get those 50 points a lot later, after all the away games have finished I think.

Two seasons time.

Going to a three year rotation and less points for renewing. But we have heard all this before.

Ahh, so it’s not changing next season then?

Will it really change anything. Those at the top, continue to do every game and remain at the top.

Or are they scrapping it altogether and having a 1 season free for all to start it off 😆

Those at the top ain't the issue, it's those who have done 10 years as an ST but barely do any aways.

Putting it as a 3 season cap means they'll tumble down the ranking and those that do attend away games can actually go and get themselves up the priorities.

It will default to your last three season rolling. So no free for all.

2026/27 was spoken about. Sensible proposals but we will see what happens.

At the last FCC, I suggested as low as 15 priority points per season because that allows some catch up across a season.

The thing to bear in mind is that if we go back up to the PL, you are highly likely to find away tickets even as digital. QPR are next season

I see, that for all the talk about changes and improvement ... it's back how you were, and how it's been for the last decade.

50 extra points for season ticket renewals ..................................................

Wasn't it said that it isn't changing for another 2/3 seasons?

That wouldn't surprise me.
