The irony of the club failing to be fully transparent with its fan engagement plan is incredible. It tells everyone all they need to know about how much of a tick box exercise this is. It’s embarrassing and vile.

Look at the concerns you correctly listed. It’s wild.

All fans, fan groups etc should walk away from the FAB and refuse to be part of it. Why would you even want to be part of it now?

I know I got shot down by some at the trust when I suggested it will be a cherry picked few, but I was 100% correct.

Take action and walk away. Let them do what they want (they will anyway) and make a mockery of the whole thing. If the EPL are watching as they say they are, let the club expose themselves.

I know the trust feel “some communication is better than none” and while I don’t agree , that’s ok, but really what is the point when they take the piss like this? As I mentioned before I walked away from it all, the club literally laugh at you, feed you enough to keep you excited and ITK and then shit on you when it matters.

As I tried to advise you, the trust need to change stance or get angry otherwise nothing will change. Free coffee at Seagrave and meeting a player here and there is lovely if you like that kind of thing but when it comes to holding “LCFC and its owners to account for the highest standards of business management, operational and commercial decisions” this doesn’t really happen away from words like this.

A new head of fan engagement employed, their own deadline missed to launch a fan engagement plan (not even challenged) and then complete failure to even be transparent with you when Whelan is telling you they need to do better?

It’s an awful start and ultimately the end to what should be a new start for everyone.

There is literally zero point in any of the clubs vanity projects with supporters.

The trust has adopted an approach of "deferential contact" with the club. And where has it got them.  They were told that the club was grooming them and it was time to call out the club.

Now we see where this has ended up.   The trust has been made to look foolish.

Only a reformed trust can start to challenge the club and king power to find a better way.  Frankly the director responsible for fan engagenent will have to go.

The engagement people at the club are missing an opportunity to have valuable insights from a truly representative fab.... look at the recent decisions from the club and the appalling communications around them?  The club is miles away from fan engagement... #EARLESS

Sadly the club will tick its box

few fans care or are bothered about such issues

and anyone that protests will be sidelined

we need a proper football regulator to hold all these owners to account

We need a trust that will stand up to this.  We need to demand king power force Anthony Hurley out.

I can’t stop thinking about this! Obviously I’m extremely passionate about it.

The clubs that do FE well see FE as an opportunity to make supporters feel valued through non-transactional relationships,  adding value at every opportunity. They make it all about the core fans and have a culture for attracting the next generations.

Unfortunately LCFC see it as a chance to make money (which is marketing not FE) and more about letting party poppers off in Thailand than about core fans.

The culture of a club should be to make supporters feel valued, to be 100% transparent and then any strategy follows that. Culture rules over any strategy. It shouldn’t matter if you have 350 or 35,000 fans it’s all scalable.

We have a big team dedicated to FE but not an ounce of knowledge on how football fans think and behave, what our supporters DNA is etc. The FAB being forgotten about and then rushed through after promising transparency is such a cause for concern. The model is wrong, the recruitment process is massively flawed to favour the club and the lap dogs and all the club want to do is show it off to the EPL.

The ignorance and arrogance of our club is sickening.

Could supporter protests, say held outside of the stadium, over such matters make the club to think more critically about how the club's fanbase feel?

The problem will be the apathy en mass. I would say that there is a huge % of our fan base who don’t seem phased by the masterclass in negligence and mismanagement of those running the club. They just take it. Even within the supporter groups there seems to be a level of apathy and acceptance of it all.

The Supporters Club are very unlikely to rock their cosy boat, Pride are a waste of time when it comes to standing up to the club as the club tend to give them more exposure than any other fan group, FT have a couple that would support a protest I’m sure but that’s never enough and UFS have to tread the line carefully as they seem to be monitored more than most.

Exposing those that the groups try and deal with who are mostly responsible for the way fans are treated would be the best bet, with facts of failings but again I have seen first hand a reluctance to do this.

The FSA are looking to run some sort of national protests this year against ticket prices and other things but what good that’ll do I don’t know.
