This whole pre season bears the same hallmarks of Bodgers last pre season where for all his faults he was undone that summer by the board trying to be Mini Daniel Levy's and getting their fingers burned.

I know players coming in will  always leave it to the last minute to see if they can get an established Prem side rather than a newly promoted one but the lack of shifting out the players Steve Cooper doesn't want to create space and wage money is just like 2 years ago.

Cooper has shown he is adaptable and i trust him but he needs to have a smaller squad of players that want to be here

Where exactly has he shown he is adaptable throughout preseason he has in his own words " had to play players out of position" where as he definitely hasn't had yo as we managed not to last season and have only lost 1 player

An adaptable manager would fit to the players he had rather than playing players out of position to fit his system that the players seem to have no idea how to play

I'm puzzled as to why pre-season is getting some excited. It's mainly to get fitness levels up I would have thought and, importantly, to do so without getting injured. Some players perhaps need extra minutes in their legs (we don't see their fitness stats) so have maybe played in different positions. I guess there's some level of tactics and shape work but I'd have thought that's more for Seagrave. Just listened to the radio and Preston manager has quit and they beat Liverpool and Fiorentina in pre-season games apparently. We are all going to find out after five or six proper competitive games how the land lies.

Shame that place went. Used to be a right good evening.

If you wanted a fight it was fantastic
