Making the trip across the pond with the girlfriend (why wouldn't we choose January for a visit); told her I wanted to attend a match at KP as part of the itinerary. Obviously learning it's not quite the same as getting tickets to an event here in the States, I am leaning towards the hospitality package, that way the girlfriend is a bit more comfy (hopefully then has fun).

All that to say, are the hospitality experiences worth it? I know they are pricey but given cost for say hockey or American football, not so bad for a one time experience. Also, feel free to send suggestions of what we should do for our 6 day trip.

Do what you want hospitality can be good and actually the atmosphere in some parts of hospitality is better than some ordinary seated areas. Do not go to Weller Lounge, Fosse Lounge is OK, Champions Club you will see the man of the match after the game, food is good you will be on a shared table doable to mix with other fans. Despite what many think there are many ‘ordinary’ fans in hospitality not just corporate freebies as some would make out. You will find it closer to standards at US Venues we know we were also season ticket holders at Houston Dynamo, Houston Astros for many years.

Personally done three different lounges in hospitality (cup games, was cheaper; Banks Lounge, Fosse Club and Champions Club) and the only one I would really go back to would be the Champions Club. Having said that, the price is ludicrous for what you get. Like most have said, I would get a membership, get the cheaper seats, slum it with the majority, and hope we don’t lose (gets really quiet) although with Ruud on the horizon that may not be a problem for a little while.

I used to date a girl from NY. She came over frequently and on one occasion I took her the LCFC v Liverpool game a few years ago, the one where Thomas tamed Salah.....Yes! you read that right! It really happened!

I thought I'd show her the more raw side of what it can be like at a "Soccer" game, instead of playing it safe up with the prawn sandwich brigade, so got us tickets on the periphery of the singing section with UFS.

After some pre game nerves she absolutely loved it and was still in a haze and daze as we left the stadium.

You know your GF best so need to think what would appeal to her the most. My (now ex) would never have it any other way than how we went for this game, massively different to the way Americans do games with the songs, chants, limbs and scenes.

We did Fosse Club in March 2023, on our first visit from the US. At the time, international members weren’t guaranteed tickets, which made the decision even easier. My wife was very happy with the experience, especially on a not great weather day. For the occasion, it’s worth the expenditure.

Keep a check on the FA cup 3rd round draw soon to be made, if we get a home tie then tickets should be more accessible for you.

Providing we don’t pull out a top 3 side or a team like Forest, Cov, Leeds etc where tickets might still be sold to anyone with a booking history, you should get options to buy in most areas.

If we are at home it will be moved due to the tigers.

Thanks all for the input! Looking like the Crystal Palace fixture. Another stupid question I was getting mixed results online searching, what's risk of them shifting dates now that they've completed the FA draw? Given the surrounding schedules, safe to assume it's locked in yet?

No replays in the Cup, fixture should go ahead as stated. 7.30 kick off looks like an Amazon televised fixture too so pretty much nailed on

No, they’re not worth it. And it’s not the football experience. Atmosphere around there is shocking. Get in the kop!

The worst out of the three. I went into Banks for the Tranmere match. A very mid two course self serve carvery. The chicken balti pies in the concourses are better in my opinion. Seats at the very back of the stand. Great view if you like a TV camera angle but you are quite far away from the action. Row MM.

looking forward to the match tonight...got the email from the coordinator for the hospitality suites, anyone know how serious they take the dress code? I did not think to pack "smart casual" for my vacation over here.

Ouch, genuinely feel for you, hopefully the football didn’t spoil a lovely day.
