I don't think voting with your wallet works.

They already don't want you there because you don't buy programmes, food, scarves, shirts, coffees etc.

They will be more than happy for you to not spend the money going to games so that some tourist can come in and lap everything up.

Of course it does. A season ticket holder that pays say, £25 pro rata for their ticket and spends nothing additional at the ground generates less money for the club than a tourist that pays £50 for the same seat, then buys food and drink and a scarf from the shop pre match. That's obvious.

Hopefully those voting with their wallet are doing so because of the KPFC issues and not because we're not winning or doing well in the league.

The worst type are those that have these 'principles' but are first to be sniffing around when we're on a winning run.

Scandalous ticket pricing, loyalty tax, losing future fans, £100+ for a kit, £6 for a pint of piss etc etc should be called out either way.

To be fair it costs me and a lot of other non season ticket holders money to get tickets, travel etc. And I'm honestly not going to spend nearly 100 pounds to watch us play like shit when I could use that time and money to e.g. go to the opera or have a great meal out. KPFC issues or not.

This is one reason I can't embrace non league like a lot of people on here. It's crap value. At National and even National League North/South level it is often still around 20 pounds or over and the football and stadium is rubbish. In other countries, e.g. Italy which I know well, you can often get tickets at least in the second tier, sometimes even Serie A, for around 20 euros. I still go and see Palermo a couple of times a season and if you don't mind being in the curva you can get a ticket for like 18 euros. The problem with English football is not so much the 'experience', it's just that it's terrible value, especially when combined with UK rail transport.

Yes mainly to do with KP but having a nine and ten year old at the minute means I can’t really afford it for now

Each to their own, but I personally don't go games for the quality or the results. I guess that is easy for me to say as my ST is still 'value for money', but I keep telling my Dad to stop paying the ridiculous one off ticket prices and use it on other stuff. As you've highlighted, it becomes a choice between other socials/events and if it's 'worth it'. The issue is the people that just pay no matter what the circumstance as if it makes them more loyal, whereas all it does it prove they have no other hobbies. That is different however, to say the Pearson years where we had an identity and everyone was pulling together, it was actually fun going games even when we had really poor periods.

My first thought seeing them Man Utd cup ticket prices was how I could get cheap flights, hotel and match ticket abroad for less, as your Palermo example proves.

As for the non league, I like the fact I know I'm supporting local and my ticket money on the gate and beer money down the ground (which tastes like an actual pint) is most likely actually going back into their pockets, makes a difference and is actually appreciated. I'm not appreciated down City now, however much they pretend I am. So I do actually see it as value, even if the gap between standard of football doesn't replicate the gap between price of tickets.

Yes, but  that's not my point.

If I stop buying a coffee and a programme before each game, the club won't give a ****. They still don't want me there as a season ticket for cheap prices each week. They would rather I was a tourist there for a day out.

How many are we talking in comparison to a match gate of 30,000 fans? I struggle to believe its remotely significant.

Not significant in terms of numbers of bodies (i'd guess in the hundreds) but absolutely significant in terms of match day spend.

Yes that's a fair point.

Leicester are my team though and it is so miserable watching them at the moment I can't justify parting with the kind of money required to travel to and attend a game. If we get relegated and push for promotion next season, even just push for the playoffs, I'll go to more. I realise for some people that's antithetical to being a real football fan but as I said for me it's a reflection of English football and transport costing what it does.

I suppose my broader point is that the whole King Power match day experience, as bad as it is, isn't the biggest problem I have. If I could spend 18 quid on a ticket and 10 quid on a train I'd be there every week no matter how bad it was.

Exactly. So the best way to hit the club in the wallet is to keep your *relatively* cheap ST space and to buy nothing in the ground.

Have we sold out any home games this year? Seems to be tickets available all the time. Performances a factor but think the pricing is starting to have an adverse effect

Why? They still don't want me at the ground? No point making my time worse for absolutely no reason.

If all 23k season ticket holders did that, it would make a difference though, hence why I quoted you in the first place!

No it wouldn't! They would still not want you there.

Lets say the average spend for a STH at a home game is a fiver. You're not even covering Vardy's weekly wage with that amount of money. It's a drop in the ocean.

They don't want "legacy fans". In their ideal world they would sell your ticket to a  tourist that spend hundreds at each game and then never see them again as they go back to their homes on the other side of the world.

They don't want season ticket holders. It's a frame of mind and nothing to do with whether or not you buy a programme/coffee/hot dog etc.

There is no "Oh shit we've pissed off the local community and fanbase again" with this ownership. It's "here they are moaning again why don't they just **** off".
