We’ve had this debate on here a few times, and I don’t think I know the answer 100%.. some have said a screen shot works, others have said it don’t. But I just can’t understand how it could work using nfc tickets.

would it work If I took a screenshot of my bank card and held it next to a card terminal..

downloading a home ticket to your wallet is a different matter. Like I said because I ain’t sure the difference between a bank card and a match ticket I’m unsure, but assumed they would go by the same or similar technology lol

You can generate an alternative QR code which you can scan. Screen shot can be tricky, but if you take a photo of the qr code with another phone, that has worked.

That's how it works with LCFC but our process is very basic and primitive. The simple fact is no one will know if the usual methods work with Brighton until we see their process and the ticket. The common approach these days seems to be a 30 second refreshing ticket where you can't screenshot the backend QR code and pass on.

Tickets will be sent to the buyer on Friday 4th April, so we'll know at that date

Yes for home matches but we are discussing a game in Brighton here,  so are you sure that the technology works the same there.

All this just seems so wild, all to stop another fan largely sending it onto their mate.

That is not only what is happening though is it,  supporters in the top priority are regularly selling their tickets on to people they do not know.  At the recent your 90 minutes I attended the vast majority of fans were with the club in their view that this has to be stopped as it is grossly unfair on supporters further down the food chain.  Further Jim stated that of the 23  fans ejected at Everton a very high proportion (from  memory 20)  did not have sufficient points to have purchased their own ticket.

For the past 3 seasons 100% a photo of the QR code gets you in.

I’ll let you know what happens at Brighton!

On the BHA website,  in the "What mobile devices are supported?" FAQ section, it says:

If you have a smart phone that does not have an NFC chip you will be able to download your ticket/season ticket to your Google/Apple Wallet and select the 'Show Code' option when entering via the turnstiles. You scan the barcode in the turnstile in the same way that you would with a paper or Print@Home ticket. The barcode will regenerate at regular intervals so screenshots of the barcode will not work.

If you have a smart phone with an NFC chip you will be able to store your ticket/season ticket to your Google or Apple Wallet and scan your phone on the top of the turnstile when entering.

Well that looks like it answers the question then. Point scalping will most likely not be possible with this fixture as the code will constantly regenerate. If you buy a ticket you're gonna have to go

Absolutely correct! I was referring to home games, who knows how Brighton is configured!

And @Robo61.

So is it like the home tickets where the ticket is sent via email and then downloaded to the phone. If so then this won’t solve anything.. only time will tell after the Brighton fixture

I bought a ticket to a gig from ticket master.  That had a moving barcode.  I believe the code changed every couple of minutes.  The top and bottom of it was that the ticket couldn't be passed on or re-sold

Well not sure if the ticket will be sent out via email, may be via an app or something non transferable. We will see on 4 April

Some clubs are using advanced NFT options and BHA did this when I was there recently. The identity refreshes every 15-20 seconds to stop sharing capabilities. I believe if you did it at the entry point quickly you can fool it but stewards are watching for it. If you try and it fails it’s off to the office to plead your case. Note advanced NFT has an audit feature which can reveal if you forwarded, when and to what IMEI registration I believe. The EPL is having clubs test advanced features such as finger print and facial recognition but it is some time away from being able to cope with the last 20 minute volumes at large stadia.Do not think relegation will change this the EFL are pushing it down to the Championship. As somebody stated earlier 20 of 23 detentions at Everton were identified as not being the original recipient of their tickets. This was all announced last August by the EPL Leicester as with all clubs has to complete two away trial this season, 70% minimum for home tickets and all fixtures next season. The police, the big clubs all want full digital as soon as possible get used to it.

Sellign atrociously but I think the terrible form, the poor 1st seats on offer and the terrible bloody e-tickets or whatever the **** they are has put people off

Yes lets hope they have put off those selling them on  so that the rest get a fare crack of the whip,  though I suspect form is the real deciding factor here.

Its a fair point.  Buying just for the point and selling on takes the p*ss morally.  But its a double edge sword really for us members.  We dont usually get a sniff of tickets at popular aways (when we aren't in abysmal form) so the only way we get to go is if we buy one from ST holders selling them on.  Digital will stop all that in any case, rightly or wrongly
