Foden, didn’t have the best season last but he is capable, young enough to still shine. Apparently despite all the trophies Rooney was overrated too lol Foden has a big career ahead let’s see, I know one thing he has all the attributes you want from a forward thinking player

Just ignore those couple of seasons when he was virtually unplayable then yeah? lol

He’s been bang average (at best) for as long as he was playing well

Watch the game, watch him.

Players like him are the reason England fail to meet expectations every two years- because the players are hugely overhyped

This is what people said about Rooney when picking up trophies, and motm’s, player of the season and all that.. look did Rooney get to the level people expected, it’s debatable..  the man was unplayable for like 6 seasons straight. It’s where you feel is overrated, no ballon d’or…  owen was overrated and he got one.. where is the overrated bar? Foden he is a world class player, and got everything you want in a forward..

What’ll make you laugh even harder is that I also think Rooney did become overrated. That era from 2004 to 2006 he was undoubtedly world class. (Talking from an international POV) He was unplayable.

He then was forced to become, or voluntarily became this all rounder, trying to play everywhere, wanting the ball everywhere, to the point where he was no longer the threat he was.

Then he was played because the media made him undroppable, much to the detriment of the rest of the team (2012 onwards)

But no, Foden is nowhere near ‘World class’ Not having it

I think so yes. One of the players Sky seem to brain wash viewers into believing he’s the current Paul Gascoigne. He’s gone missing for 18 months, has one foot, and has just scored a header against Man Utd. He’s hardly ‘back’ and he’s most definitely not ‘world class’

He's not overrated, he gets an absolute load of criticism from people saying exactly what you are now.

Foden, had a bad season last, and it’s tainted him, but he was quality for long enough periods to say he is world class.

It’s like people trying to tell me Jude Bellingham is garbage..  la Liga player of the season? Always comes up with the goods for England… Madrid fans love him.., is it that we want to just put down our own class players.. it’s the English way

I think it’s far from the ‘English way’ That’s why you can stick an extra few £m on any English players asking price.

Bellingham has done it in Germany and now doing it at Real. I think he can be called world class. A few years ago you could put Kane in that bracket too, but now he’s doing exactly what Rooney did for England- playing because he’s been made captain and therefore undroppable if fit

So scoring multiple hat-tricks which Kane does, and pretty much getting a goal every game for Munich isn’t good enough? I didn’t expect Kane to be in this to be honest. I will not hate on Kane for his spurs antics when we won the title… the guy has proved over again his quality, it’s without question

But goes missing in tournaments, or certainly the big games in tournaments. Less missing than Rooney used to though

You are talking a very few players, Ronaldo didn’t do anything for Portugal… he bullied, but he wasn’t responsible for their Euro win.. he gets his goals against low calibre teams.. isn’t this the bar you are setting?

yet I would say Ronaldo is one of the greatest of all time

I am talking very few players. That’s my point really

Ronaldo and Messi were a class apart. I hear you on the Ronaldo/Portugal thing but what he did in England, Italy and Spain meant he was.

I’ve no axe to grind with Kane at all. He just shouldn’t be playing just because he’s captain

So multiple PL golden boots, top scorer in Germany, and on the way for another..  not good enough?

Ronaldo for me is one of the greatest of all time no question.. but if you are saying Kane’s shit because he only scores against this side, and this side internationally .. I say the same for Ronaldo… you can’t escape it.

i can mention Ronaldo’s penos too to pad his stats..  it’s funny when you look at kanes pl goals it’s a very low percentage actually where penos

Tough one isn’t it. We won the PL with far less talented players whose parts totalled a greater sum.

Playing the best footballers you have at your disposal doesn’t always work- we proved that in with that ‘golden generation’ around 1998-2008.

Its my belief that in 2016 for example we’d have been far more dangerous with a Kane, Vardy Sturridge front 3, rather than leading the line with Rooney

2012- Rooney was suspended for the first two group games due to him kicking out in the qualifier v Montenegro (I think it was)

We played pretty well without him from memory. Got the results, looked dangerous. He came back in for the third game. We looked diabolical.

We looked even worse than that v Italy.  Every ball ‘had’ to go through one man.
