If you were there you will never forget, highlight of a glittering career.

The night he reached footballs pinnacle and played out everyone’s boyhood dream.

A statue and the retirement of the number 1 shirt would be a fitting tribute to an all time great.

Thanks for the memories I will take them to my grave.

Walsall was 90mins of my life I’ll never get back 😂. Best part was parking behind the stand and driving straight home 😂

At least straight to penalties wonder what happened to young lad that went on the pitch!

I was there. But I was also there when Russell Hoult came down from the Kop. I was there when Speedie dived, when Steve Thompson made it 3-3, when Claridge shinned it in, Savage v Edinburgh, Big Dunc on Freund, Chris Wood off his nose, Joey from the half way line, etc etc. But I’d give them all up to relive that dark hazy night in Walsall to watch DW single handedly secure the win on pens. The man. The myth. The legend.

I had consigned that to the memory vault.

In a week I was at Walsall, Everton, AND Arsenal for perhaps three of the worst games to have seen back to back to back. For three very different reasons.

And Wolves!

Partly out of piss-poor commitment, but mainly for financial/practical reasons, I've rarely attended away games.

My last away game was the one I presume you're referring to. A dreadful League Cup game at Molineux about 7 years ago: 0-0 draw, won on penalties - Danny saved 3, or was it 2 and 1 blasted over?

So, I can honestly say that at my last away match, Danny Ward was the match-winning hero and all the Leicester crowd were chanting his name. lol
