'It Was Unbelievable' - Cross On His Foxes Memories

Graham Cross made 600 appearances for Leicester City between 1961 and 1975, which is a Foxes record. When speaking to Club Historian John Hutchinson, Graham recalled playing for 12 years in the old First Division, featuring in the European Cup Winners’ Cup, appearing in two FA Cup Finals, winning the League Cup and the FA Community Shield, and lifting the old Second Division title.

"The Tank"

The only player in Leicester City history to have a record recorded in his honour.

Glad the article missed out the bit about the post office!

What a great servant he was to the Club.

I can remember watching him as a young lad many times.

When you think of the money he and others earned compared to what they get today.

As well as playing 600 games for the City, also found time to play first class cricket for the County as well.   Brilliant!

Absolutely amazing, isn't it? Imagine getting to represent your hometown club so regularly in two different sports!

Partnered in the back four by John Sjoberg.

Anyone go to Graham Cross' testimonial game?

I think it was against Derby after we'd won the  Second Division Championship. I was on the pitch at full-time, as was thousands of others!

Graham was part of the great Matt Gillies team of the early 1960,s which I reckon was a better team than that which won the comp a few years back . Graham was a really dependable player made very few mistakes . I was at a lot of of City,s games when Graham was playing . He was a local lad that did very godd.
