Didn’t Martin Russell play on the wing for us in the 80s?

Yeah...signed him as a youngster from Manure...was decent...we sold him to Scarborough for a decent fee and then he ended up at Middlesbrough before playing most of his football back in his native Ireland

This appointment is actually worse than us choosing Cooper for our Prem season

shocking choices by our incompetent incumbents

Not for me

Cooper was out of his depth at PL and was from a rival, which was a terrible idea before we even set foot on the pitch.

Martin has been success at a high level in the championship and has experience at this level.

The only issue for me is Martin preferred style of play.

Explain why its worse?

Because Martin is stubborn on this shitty possession football and league one is a tougher league to get out of. Imho

Tougher league then the championship?

Birmingham got out playing possession football.

Birmingham had the luxury of smashing the League One transfer record and had the most expensive ever squad at that level (£25m on transfers and £39m wage bill)

Whereas we'll be hamstrung by finances unless Aiyawatt finds a spare £25m down the back of the sofa, and it's exceedingly unlikely that we'll recruit as well as they did

We will still have a squad and wage bill bigger then the rest of league 1.

Perhaps it can be a two way thing?

If fans turn up for the first game with a negative attitude and don't get behind the team, moan when a pass goes astray, boo the players they don't like then we're fcuked.
Hopefully the players will ensure the fans want to get behind the team.

The club treats us with contempt so they should expect contempt back.  Our disapproval should be voiced.

The sideways walking football experiment has come to it's natural conclusion at this club.  We need a total reset and change of direction, so what do dumb and dumber do?  The exact opposite of course.

Russell f***ing Martin.  I still can't believe it!

We probably came close to having that in the Champ last year.  Look where that got us.

We don't have a bigger wage bill because we have better quality players ... it's precisely the poor recruitment that has hamstrung us with an overpaid, lazy and uncommmitted squad.

What makes you think any of that is going to change in div1?

Your taken my point out of context.

However the squad will look very different come the start of the session.

Who needs the Russell Mart?

Now here’s the tricky part

Oh won’t you rhyme with me?

Who needs the Russell Mart?

His football is shitty-Mart

It makes me sicky-Mart

Let’s hurl a bricky-Mart

The Russell Mart is good-

D’oh!

Who needs the Russell Mart?

City!

Just sack the Russell Mart

Goodbye to Russell Mart

Who needs the Russell Mart?

City!
