I have a feeling Stolarcryk will move on, I think he will have suitors in the championship and we could easily net £5m+ including bonuses etc

If so Vietas as starting keeper with McCarthy as back up wouldn’t be a bad option. Plus he is a good solid pro so again makes sense, I have a feeling McCarthy, Ings and Chaplin have been identified as not only decent players for league one but also players who can come in as leaders of the group and reset what has been a disgrace of a senior leadership group.

reminds me a lot of how Pearson operated, bring in his experienced leaders early days to help set standards and culture and then bring in the younger players around them.

Kind of my thinking too and I really hope it turns out to be the case.

Many fans just have mental scars with what’s transpired in recent seasons, culminating in the Ayew and BDCR combo. Fans end up fearing the situation when we start out with a cluster of experienced signings, a “Here we go again” kind of feeling.

But I’ve said myself that getting the leadership group right is extremely important this summer, you can’t go into a season with Hamza and BDCR as your main senior figures, that’s just piss poor squad management.

Russell did similar at MK Dons and Swansea, a few older heads, but the majority of his signings were under 25. I hope that will be a similar case here this summer.

Once Ings, Chaplin and McCarthy are through the door, I’d be inclined to get a couple more experienced heads, especially in defence, then the rest of the signings to be 25 and under 🤞🏻

Oh ffs. So not good enough to be first choice when they get smashed 0-9 at home. So 6 to 12-0 every week for us then.

This will bring us to 22.22% of the Southampton squad who lost 9-0 to Leicester brought into our squad.

Luckily, thanks to my complete disconnect from the club, I find it funny. It would be nice though to have an explanation to why the club keep doing this?

Beat them 9-0, signed two of their defenders.

Beat 5-0, signed their manager, CM and goalkeeper.

I don't see anyone paying 5m, think we would be lucky to get 1-2m.

But it pure profit so the club will be interested.

I also don't know who would watch Stolarcryk last season and think they'd want him. But then again this is football.
