Sobering Thought for the Sack Him Brigade

shame they let cotterill go to burnley.

I've thought that myself. He's not Mr Charisma either, but he's proved himself to be tactically sound (at least twice against City this season) and has organised Burnley into a good unit. He's also bought well.

He's done it at a lower level in English football, and although "unlucky" is a word thrown about too much at the moment, he was unlucky to wind up as assistant at Sunderland when they flat-lined two years ago.

But many on here would complain. He plays long ball (or hoof ball) as some people ignorantly call it, and 4-5-1. I sometimes think people would rather watch a losing pretty team than an effective winning one.

Not me.

I'd be happy for Craig or anyone else to play 4-5-1, if they could get it right. Craig rarely does get it right, or at least the players don't seem to understand what they are supposed to be doing, and we end up with 4-5-------(at least 25 yards)-------De Vries.

So thats why I wish Craig would stick to simple 4-4-2 home and away, regardless of opposition (Reading, Spurs or whoever), in the belief that if he can get the same time playing in the same positions week on week, eventually something somewhere will click and they might look like a cohesive team.

There are 20 games left, based on our last 8 games form which is a better judge then our last 46 form we will achieve another 15 points. We currently have 26 points which will make us finish on 41 points. So my prediction without a change of manager we will finish on 41 points.

As a bonus here is the bottom of the away form table. Showing this because we have also played 14 home games and only 12 away so we have 9 home games left and 11 away games left.

17 Plymouth Argyle (19) 14 2 6 6 10 18 -8 0.71 1.28 0.85 12

18 Sheffield Wednesday (22) 14 2 5 7 8 16 -8 0.57 1.14 0.78 11

19 Burnley (9) 13 3 2 8 10 20 -10 0.76 1.53 0.84 11

20 Brighton & Hove Albion (21) 13 1 8 4 10 21 -11 0.76 1.61 0.84 11

21 Hull City (16) 14 2 4 8 12 22 -10 0.85 1.57 0.71 10

22 Coventry City (18) 14 1 6 7 13 25 -12 0.92 1.78 0.64 9

23 Leicester City (20) 12 1 5 6 10 18 -8 0.83 1.50 0.66 8

24 Crewe Alexandra (24) 13 1 5 7 12 27 -15 0.92 2.07 0.61 8

Make of it what you will.

Also I added this after radio leics observed that we have never won a game when we not scored in the first half.

19 Sheffield Wednesday 27 15 55.5%

20 Crystal Palace 25 14 56.0%

21 Leicester City 26 15 57.6%

22 Stoke City 27 16 59.2%

23 Millwall 27 17 62.9%

24 Norwich City 27 18 66.6%

I was just about to say everyone would be crying because he doesn't play attacking, exciting football. The games I have seen of them have been very dour affairs!!

So many people on this board said they would rather Leicester lose and be attacking. Well they are getting their wish now. Since Levein tried to be more "attacking" I would guess our results have got worse.

True, 4-5-1 worked against Wolves and we got a point, he did it again against Reading and it failed miserably, if he insists on 4-5-1 away in the future can I suggest not playing MDV in the lone striker role? 4-5-1 is fine for players who can handle it but I dont think ours can or the manager now :(

I agree with you to an extent, although I was not one of those people saying that performances count more than results. I felt Micky Adams did a tremendous job in his first season here when we got promoted, I did not criticise him at all for the promotion winning campaign despite the long ball football.

I'd rather have 1-0 victories every other game like Burnley than have so-called fluent passing football where we lose 1-0, 2-0 etc.
