Jonbluefox9 Posted 18 January 2006 Posted 18 January 2006 I found out today from someone I know that Barber is a Derby County supporter! It would explain his dislike of Forest which I used to think was an act to cover up the fact that he's a Forest fan but it would seem he's a sheep shagger. Just thought I'd let you know if you didn't already.

Milky Posted 18 January 2006 Posted 18 January 2006 he always does seem to get more excited when the opposition score it has to be said, another thing that really pisses me off about him, along with the lack of knowledge of current affairs..........

I'm not defending the guy, but do you keep up to speed with whats happening at Derby??? I don't. I know it's his job to keep up with affairs at Leicester before anyone shoots me down.
Gené and Tonic Posted 18 January 2006 Posted 18 January 2006 why on earth is he doing our commentary then?

I know it's his job to keep up with affairs at Leicester before anyone shoots me down. i was talking about leicester's current affairs, such as, he kept saying that we lost 2-0 to norwich when in fact it was 1-0. Also, a commentator should be a fountain of football knowledge, and actually i would like to think i did know a large amount of what is going on at every club, cus i love to take a look at what each club are up to. i'm sorry, but i can't stand a commentator who can't put a players face to his name, can't say players names correcty, and just isn't up to speed with everything that is football. there are two main things a good commentator should have. 1) a voice that is easy on the ear for the listener 2) outstanding knowledge of everything that is football. barber has neither of these qualities.
MC Prussian Posted 18 January 2006 Posted 18 January 2006 Well, everytime I tune in he sounds like he's having a chat with his co-commentator and that they're actually not even following the action on the pitch, than rather having a tea party and eating some cake with that.

He also said Connolly scored a peanlty against stoke in the very same broadcast.

Yeah, he's obviously a graduate of the Neville Foulger school of broadcasting. We should really expect a better quality than this...
Guest Posted 19 January 2006 Posted 19 January 2006 Yeah, he's obviously a graduate of the Neville Foulger school of broadcasting. He's a Cov fan, apparently.
