Katy Posted 29 March 2006 Posted 29 March 2006 If that happens then: A) We deserve to be relegated and B) Kelly won't be the right man for the job. Quite right! I dont know what the stats are but a Manager of the month generally loses the subsequent game and is then ok. He deserves it more than any other manager though.
lookwhaticando Posted 29 March 2006 Posted 29 March 2006 I don't see how he can't win really when he's come up against the muppets he has done. Millwall, Sheff Wed, Derby - 2W, 1D, 1L Leicester - 3W, 1D, 0L How on earth anyone could choose any of the others I don't know. Derby have climbed one place up the league in that time. Millwall haven't moved. Nor did Sheffield. We've moved 2 or 3 places in that time. Perhaps tomorrow will be Kelly's biggest test, keep it togther after being awarded a cursed award. Responding positively to a loss is one thing, but any manager worth his salt will be able to keep it together after being named manager of the month
Jonbluefox9 Posted 29 March 2006 Posted 29 March 2006 I was watching SSN earlier and I think it said 12:30 pm tomorrow with Kamara, the awards will be announced. As I've been off ill from school since Monday afternoon I might get tomorrow off too and get to see it. Doubt it'll be worth watching though. It'll just be Kamara saying "so-and-so deserves this award because he's done well this month. He's a good friend of mine so I'm pleased he's won this award. Well done so-and-so". He really needs a new script writer imo.

From what I've seen of it before I think they usually try and get the manager on the phone straight away afterwards to comment, which should be interesting to hear...
Jonbluefox9 Posted 29 March 2006 Posted 29 March 2006 From what I've seen of it before I think they usually try and get the manager on the phone straight away afterwards to comment, which should be interesting to hear... I don't mean this in a bad way but I think it's pretty predictable what Rob Kelly would say if he does win the award. Maybe if we had mathematically confirmed survival or he'd been offered the job long term prior to him being given the award (if he does win it) the interview would be a bit different but I'm sure Rob will want to continue saying similar things about the team spirit, the help of his staff and the fact that we're not safe yet.
Onion Posted 29 March 2006 Posted 29 March 2006 Kelly can sing 'bar-bar-blacksheep' in the interview for all I care as long as he carries on performing!
Louise Posted 29 March 2006 Author Posted 29 March 2006 Kelly can sing 'bar-bar-blacksheep' in the interview for all I care as long as he carries on performing! Aw. Now I know I'm going to be disappointed.
Leicester_Mad Posted 29 March 2006 Posted 29 March 2006 to be fair to the bloke at Derby he isnt doing bad either. Should be bob though
Scow Posted 29 March 2006 Posted 29 March 2006 I'd be very surprised if it was any other manager than Kelly. How could Kamara justify any other choice? (barring his vendetta against us)

LCFC UK Posted 30 March 2006 Posted 30 March 2006 On BBC website:- Leicester boss wins monthly award Kelly has transformed Leicester since taking charge in late January Leicester City caretaker boss Rob Kelly has been named Championship manager of the month for March. Kelly steered the Foxes to three wins and a draw during the month. "This award is recognition for everyone at the club and great credit goes to the players for not taking a backward step and being resilient," he said. "We are in a difficult situation and the results have put us back on the right track and we should now get away from danger." Kelly took over at Leicester after Craig Levein's tenure as manager ended on 25 January. WAHAYYY
