Tomassi Posted 10 April 2006 Posted 10 April 2006 AMAZING !!! There is so much to see and do, the french people in Paris are strangely very welcoming and helpful and generally very happy beings. The metro system works fantastically well and there are next to nothing sh!t spots Defintaely worth a weekend away!!
The People's Hero Posted 10 April 2006 Posted 10 April 2006 Are you joking? Parisians or however you spell it are amongst the rudest, most aloof people in the world. Their city is beautiful but the people are disgusting.

I think its the company you go with rather than the city itself, glad you had a great time.
Newcastle_Fox Posted 10 April 2006 Posted 10 April 2006 Get involved in any riots over there with the Parisians? The one thing I do admire about the French is that they look after their own interests and do not let other countries dictate them so much as us.

LCFC UK Posted 10 April 2006 Posted 10 April 2006 I think its the company you go with rather than the city itself True, I'd imagine it would be pretty awful with mates or on ya tod. Those god damn smug frogs.
Katy Posted 10 April 2006 Posted 10 April 2006  Poor old Tom, comes back full of excitement after an obviously nice trip away with his girlfriend and he's greeted with this!

The metro system works fantastically well and there are next to nothing sh!t spots Defintaely worth a weekend away!! I agree mate. I found the kinda lower class citizens really welcoming - There were some complete bells though! Did you go to the moulin rouge? There were naked girls dangling from the roof when i went
The People's Hero Posted 10 April 2006 Posted 10 April 2006 I've been with my girlfriend. Stayed in an amazing hotel, ate in some great restaurants, saw some lovely sights and had some amazing ermmm.. nights in. One thing I cannot say though is that any of the Parisians were anything but rude, aloof and arrogant apart from when you got the Euros out. Then they were slimey cockbadgers. Glad you enjoyed it though - I did too.
Head Honcho Posted 10 April 2006 Posted 10 April 2006 Ask yourself this! How many true Parisians did you meet in Paris? My guess is you could count the figure on both hands, It's the same as Central London, all the people you meet are themselves foreigners and the whole lot of em are rude to boot! Paris on the other hand is fantastic and the clubs are out of this world.

Tomassi Posted 10 April 2006 Author Posted 10 April 2006 im only going on my experience. yes i went with my girlfriend, but people were just cool with us. we tried our best to speak what french we knew and it got us by. we stayed in an area where there was no other english about, and when we looked like we were in problems they would help us out! for instance our tickets for the metro were not working and some french woman used her day pass to let us through. a lot of very similar things happened. Basically the sights, the things to do and the people made our holiday!

The People's Hero Posted 10 April 2006 Posted 10 April 2006 To be fair, there was one French exchange student at Leicester Uni for a year and she was a cracker.
Guest Posted 11 April 2006 Posted 11 April 2006 I'm glad you both had a good time Tom, ignore these party poopers!!
Foxing_Around Posted 11 April 2006 Posted 11 April 2006 Agreed Tom, I took my g/f there for a weekend away a few years ago and we too had a cracking time, definitely a place we would go back to. I seem to remember we managed to get into the Louvre and the Pompidou Centre for free as we went on the first Sunday of the month.
Dr The Singh Posted 11 April 2006 Posted 11 April 2006 It's not a bad place but like most capital cities it has plenty of ignoramoius's. Me and my Mrs went last August and had a lovely time, didn't like eiffel tower etc, too busy and touristy but beyond that it was a quite relaxed city, I enjoy the fact that people sit all day drinking and don't get abusive!!!!
