Rincewind Posted 3 June 2006 Posted 3 June 2006 I don't remember seeing anything about it in the letters I get off them. But then again they are normally bills and there is just the normal 'what a great company we are by giving you a chance to pay extra money to us' adverts

Bluefoxtim Posted 3 June 2006 Posted 3 June 2006 I see they have done free upgrades of speeds.I was on the 2mb service and it should now upgrade to 4mb.... BUT after a few different speed tests it says i'm still running at 2mb. Anyone else having the same problems??? Strange.... im not on NTL, im on bt broadband, I also got a free upgrade from 2mb to 4.5mb, but speeds are identical now i have to wait 10 days until i can take the matter further
notar Posted 5 June 2006 Posted 5 June 2006 I have the 10MB service (ha it since it started) and the speeds are getting better by the day - that is to say they have been rubbish for the past 6 months. I get downloads at 1MB per second on a good day. Ring them up and ask for a discount if the speed aint great, they love giving out freebies at the moment!
Oadlad Posted 5 June 2006 Posted 5 June 2006 If it is of interest I paid to have an upgrade from Wanadoo but noticed no difference. They now say that it depends on whether your local Exchange is equipped to offer the faster speeds, but didn't mention that at the time. They say they are all being upgraded gradually but....
wirralsimon Posted 5 June 2006 Posted 5 June 2006 I've got the NTL 10Mbs service and it's pretty fast most of the time, not all that noticeable on single downloads but very noticeable if you run several at once. Cheap too as I work for Telewest who have just bveen taken over by NTL............. Simon
