Matt Posted 7 June 2006 Posted 7 June 2006 Same as the La Manga Sky Sports News are saying the Results/Statement will be "imminent" or "Within the Next Hour"...It been 2/3 hours since they have been saying "Within the Next hour" Anyway, Rooney come out the hospital with a big smile on his face, He has looked quite miserable allday but come out the hopsital with a grin. He has boarded a plane at Manchester heading for Germany, But fit or not he was going to Germany anyway, but it looks good from the body lanaguage, e.t.c. Basically I think we'll get news when Rooney gets back into Germany/Spoke to Sven which is gonna be alot longer than an Hour! Cisse suspected Broken Leg in a "Friendly" v China, Not sure how he did it/Not seen how it happened.

Guest Gist Posted 7 June 2006 Posted 7 June 2006 Liverpool will find it hard to sell him then if it is a brake.
Guest Gist Posted 7 June 2006 Posted 7 June 2006 So I expect we won't find out about Rooney till late then?
Matt Posted 7 June 2006 Author Posted 7 June 2006 So I expect we won't find out about Rooney till late then? Nah according to SSN "Imminent"/"Within the next hour" Might aswell go to bed and wake up in the morning still waiting for the results! I love SSN and it is addictive to watch, but they make me laugh with there "Breaking News" you wait a day to find out what the Breaking News/The info from the breaking news. The Yellow ticker at the bottom of the screen has been on the screen for a good 2 maybe 3 hours saying "Breaking News....Rooney on Board plane that has left Manchester for Germany"...."Breaking News....Decision on Wayne Rooney's Fitness Due Shortly"

It's going to keep you watching = their ratings going up!!
Matt Posted 7 June 2006 Author Posted 7 June 2006 Of course they're going to say all of this.... It's going to keep you watching = their ratings going up!! True but at the same time people get bored/switch over...Again another way of looking at it is people want to switch over but keep watching just incase Breaking News and Info does happen!
Bert Posted 7 June 2006 Posted 7 June 2006 If he's fit, i wonder if any bokkies will offer odds of him playing on Saturday. 'cos i could see it happening!
Matt Posted 7 June 2006 Author Posted 7 June 2006 If he's fit, i wonder if any bokkies will offer odds of him playing on Saturday. 'cos i could see it happening! I wouldn't have thought he'd be starting. I would bring him on as a sub. I hate underestimating teams because any team can be as good as each other on the day however after saying that I think we can get past Paraguay/Trinidad without Rooney so put him on the bench ease Rooney in as a sub in these two matches then look at possibly starting him.
dandannieldanok Posted 7 June 2006 Posted 7 June 2006 he is landing in karlsruhe about now to rejoin the squad, HE'S FIT
Bert Posted 7 June 2006 Posted 7 June 2006 he is landing in karlsruhe about now to rejoin the squad, HE'S FIT What are you his stalker?? Look, i know sometimes that feeling's are hard to keep to yourself, and i for one would not really like to know who you have a crush on, Wayne also has a girlfriend

BartonFox Posted 7 June 2006 Posted 7 June 2006 You're the opposition - the first set piece when you are marking him what would you do? Stamp on his weak foot and let him have it, same with every tackle. The boy is a genius but I feel it is too risky and somewhat arrogant to assume England will actually get out the group.
Bert Posted 7 June 2006 Posted 7 June 2006 BBC Ceefax page 303 its all on there idiot Ever heard of something called tongue-in-cheek??
Jon the Hat Posted 8 June 2006 Posted 8 June 2006 You're the opposition - the first set piece when you are marking him what would you do? Stamp on his weak foot and let him have it, same with every tackle. The boy is a genius but I feel it is too risky and somewhat arrogant to assume England will actually get out the group. You can't plan your world cup campiagn on the basis of not getting to the knockout stage.

Stamp on his weak foot and let him have it, same with every tackle. The boy is a genius but I feel it is too risky and somewhat arrogant to assume England will actually get out the group. True, but let's be brutally honest here. Even without Rooney this team should be able to strongly compete against Paraguay and T&T, so Rooney isn't badly needed until Sweden at the earliest depending on how we've faired in the 2 group games. He's built like a brick shit house and although his foot is still healing, apparently broken bones always heal back stronger and someone with the physique of Rooney probably heals doubly as strong. The problem is the pin, ala Wesolowski. That can often cause a break in a different part of the bone. It's a risk worth taking for me, i'm not a dirty United fan after all!
Daggers Posted 8 June 2006 Posted 8 June 2006 The Fink, on Baddiel&Skinner, says there's no statistical difference between being fit and match fit. Here's to Roo scoring against Sweden!
The Reverend Posted 8 June 2006 Posted 8 June 2006 The Fink, on Baddiel&Skinner, says there's no statistical difference between being fit and match fit. Here's to Roo scoring against Sweden! It is disrespectful to assume that we will get to the next round whatever, but against somewht weak opposition you would expect to really. Whether Rooney plays is another matter. Will Rooney be match fit even if he plays against our next round opponents (if we get there?). The answer is probably no. I think he would be good to bring on in the last 20 mins against Sweden and if he gets 'special treatment' then get him off.
Daggers Posted 9 June 2006 Posted 9 June 2006 ...and if he gets 'special treatment' then get him off. My mum says I'm special...
macbeth Posted 9 June 2006 Posted 9 June 2006 My mum says I'm special... i think its a euphemism they use these days
