Holland vs Serbia & Montenegro

Apart from Robben, increasingly boring apart from the final flurry and, even including Robben, an exercise in poor final passes. Half the trouble is the endless whistle blowing. The sooner someone is sent off for rolling around trying to get people sent off the better.

Yeah, he came on as a subtistute.

+ he has absolutely terrible. poor touch, couldnt pass + for some reason kept leaving the ball, just giving it to a Holland player.

I was really looking forward to seeing zigic play and was very dissappointed with him.

having said that the service wasn't great either.

I think like the panel were saying S&M should have started the game the way they had ended it, then they would have been in with a chance of getting something out the game. I also thought Holland passes around too much today at times instead of just going for the goals.

So that's where Mr Stardust went after Bowie broke up the band. To Serbia and swapped a gy for an ic. Grew a bit as well. I don't suppose Mick Ronson got a game for S&M did he?

I think a lot of this is down to the ball/the pitches. I remembered wondering why Sweden kept playing it over the top of T&T's defense instead of just passing it on the floor/dribbling through, but then I noticed how fast the ball fizzed out on the few occasions that they tried. And those passes really weren't hit that hard! Maybe the ball is just too light which makes weighted balls along the ground much more difficult for many teams.

That might have been difficult, as he's been dead since 1992.

But I can think of some managers who could still have given him a go...

But the Germans and Argies seem to be managing well enough with them.. :ermm:

It's not so much the weight of the ball (as it remains the same all the time more or less), it's the new surface that can make shots (and passes) extremely unpredictable, for field players and goalkeepers likewise.
