1884 Posted 4 July 2006 Posted 4 July 2006 I work at Woodagte Adventure Playground as a "playworker" which is basically assisting young children (5-14) in a number of activities, whether it be pushing them on swings, playing football or any other sport, being "arty" or in the games room. You can get arrested for that sort of thing these days
Fez of Mahrez Posted 4 July 2006 Posted 4 July 2006 I get shouted at by doctors because they are incompetent when using computers. It's great.
Nationwider Posted 4 July 2006 Posted 4 July 2006 I get shouted at by doctors because they are incompetent when using computers. It's great. I used to get shouted at by university lecturers and and employees of Norwich Union because of their IT illiteracy. That also was great.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 4 July 2006 Posted 4 July 2006 I used to get shouted at by university lecturers and and employees of Norwich Union because of their IT illiteracy. That also was great. My favourite is "that's exactly what I did". Well no, it's not else it would have worked. What I love most is how I have to put up with all kinds of abuse but as soon as the straw breaks the camel's back and I'm even slightly terse with someone, they start talking about letters of complaint. I think in a service environment you should give back what you take and if someone is arsey with you, you're going to be less willing to help them out as quickly as possible. Sorry, bad day.

The exams are tough and you do need to do a fair amount of study for most of them. It's a ballache to have to sit down in the evenings to study after a long day counting beans. Plus the pay's not great while you're studying cos they see you as 'unskilled'. Certainly worth the effort though.

I had a spell at Her Majesty's Pleasure thanks to them

andyh1884 Posted 4 July 2006 Posted 4 July 2006 What course did you do mate? AAT or ACCA? Ive just joined clear & lane. ACA bud. Clear & Lane? They're a prety small firm aren't they? Reckon it's best to train with smaller firms, more experience with dealing with clients & also they don't work you like a dog like the bigger boys do so you get more time to study.
Knighton Matt Posted 4 July 2006 Posted 4 July 2006 Far too many accountants on here hehe Any queries don't heistate to ask but be warned I'm seriously disillusioned at the moment!
