Best ever own goal

Which ones stand out for you??

Mine has to be Jamie pollocks for man city -nicks the ball over the attackers head on the edge of his own area then beutifully heads it back to his keeper but lobbing it right over him. Stunning

.

The third goal, the guy kicks it up over a crowd of attackers/defenders (while intercepting the cross), then nails it over the keeper with his head.

beloved, there's a goal in there very similar to the one you posted. It's an oldie, but the guy chases the ball all the way back into his own box, then gives it the weakest tap to try and steer it wide.

Some brill ones there, especially the one you pointed out. Also they managed to sneak in Sinclair's one I posted about.

I especially liked the one from the compilation where the guy (an Arsenal player if I'm not mistake) from about 25 yards out just turns and chips it over his keeper. Sheer class.

Djimi Traore's lovely bit of skill against Burnley was also of the highest standard.

The Palace player and his cute little backheel was also side-splittingly good to watch

I basically crack up laughing watching that video. :P

Actually, while I think about it... I often wonder if some of the crackin own goals scored by players in blue, are our very own Leicester City.

We've been quite good with the own goals over the years, so everytime I see someone in blue nail one in, I wonder if it's someone we know

the one where it gets floated into the area, he tries to kick it over his head, lands on his nose and then bounces back into the net.

frank sinclairs 40 yard curler vs boro in a 1-0 loss.

that top corner goal from 2 yards out is brilliant too.

No question, Chris Brass v Darlington last season. Apologies if this has already been featured on one of the videos above, I have dialup at home and they won't play.

Basically a cross came in and he tried to volley it clear over his head while facing his own goal, succeeding only in kicking the ball straight into his own face, breaking his nose in the process. The ball then flew past a bewildered goalkeeper into the net. It was hilarious.

The best own goals are the ones scored under absolutely no pressure.

Mr Sinclair for example.

You know Sinclair's was special - 'save the best til last' and all that... it was so special, he was credited for it - they showed you his name and squad number clearly :P:)

Some of my favourites.

Alan Smith's own goal on 3 minutes 8 into that video against Wolves, quality finish.

Popovic (I believe) scoring a cracker on about 3 minutes 19.

Fantastic.

Still love Frank's though :)

Best bit about that clip was that you could hear the crowd laughing.

That backheel? Class.

Smith's was a sublime slice.

1:48 - that lad skies the ball, then stands on the line and lets it bounce in off his head.

1:38 - similar situation. :P

2:50 - looks like Arsenal v Wolves, the way he sorts stumles towards the goal then boots it one. Nice.
