Master Fox Posted 1 August 2006 Posted 1 August 2006 Porter? I found him anonymous in the two games I've seen, and that's nothing to do with his height. Is Porter going to be another Stevenson?
Guest Posted 1 August 2006 Posted 1 August 2006 Is Porter going to be another Stevenson? Let's hope not, eh.
dandannieldanok Posted 1 August 2006 Posted 1 August 2006 Which were those Leesoh? He had a short cameo against RS where he was picked on the wing and barely received a pass from our massed ranks of the defence minded so there was no chance of him affecting what happened in that. He shone at Hinckley and I seem to remember reports of him winning a free kick for Williams goal and being quite influential in other things but if you'll enlighten me I'm more than happy to take your word. I watched him back half of the season for the reserves, after he was moved to midfield, and he was THE dominant central midfielder, very influential. Is there anyone you think is actually good in midfield? I know you weren't asking me but I think Williams, Johnson, Hughes and Weso are all good enough.
Dr The Singh Posted 1 August 2006 Posted 1 August 2006 I quite liked Stevenson HE reminded me of the guy out of 'Different Strokes'..................................what's his name......Gary Coleman!!!
escape2victory Posted 1 August 2006 Posted 1 August 2006 Hows this for a team on Sat: ---------------Henderson Stearman---McCarthy---Kenton---Johansson ----------------Johnson -----------Williams----Hughes ---Hammond-------------------Hume -------------------Fryatt
Thracian Posted 1 August 2006 Posted 1 August 2006 I went to the very first and the very last, and to be honest I don't think there was much between the two games. Which isn't encouraging. Ha ha. If you mean Boston and Hinckley then I hope he was as bad in the former (which I didn't see) as the latter because I thought he had a cracking game at Hinckley, giving a full 90 minutes of support and enterprise and contributing directly to the five goals scored. Regarding the "good" midfielders, do I take that as a "no"?

Goods way to incorporate Hammond in the team after from what i've heard a very good pre season.

Maybury I was considering swapping with Sheehan so that could also work.

TAFKA Castroneves Posted 1 August 2006 Posted 1 August 2006 Its a combination of right forward and right wing - maybe he won't get offside this way >_> Well stick Weso or Williams in then.
Scow Posted 1 August 2006 Posted 1 August 2006 I think the only selection dilemma involves who plays alongside Johnson in midfield - Williams or Hughes? Difficult one to call, but Hughes seems the slight favourite for a starting role.
Guest Posted 1 August 2006 Posted 1 August 2006 Regarding the "good" midfielders, do I take that as a "no"? Take it however you like. It matters not what I think.
Sods Posted 2 August 2006 Author Posted 2 August 2006 I agree with the problem Rob will have is the centre mid with hughes and williams. Also weso would probably start but is gunna miss the game. I personally would go with williams. Hughesy i did have a lot of time for and i thought he was going to be awesome, but hes had his chance. But i still think hes wkd.
Jonbluefox9 Posted 2 August 2006 Posted 2 August 2006 I think Rob will play this team on Saturday: Henderson Johansson (LB) McCarthy Kenton Stearman (RB) Tiatto (LM) Hughes Johnson Maybury (RM) Hume Fryatt Bench: Logan McAuley Williams Hammond O'Grady I think Wesolowski will come in for Hughes once he feels ready. He said to me that his thigh was fine on Saturday but I get the feeling he would say that no matter what. I'm sure he would've tried to carry on playing with his broken leg if he could. He's that kind of player. Only problem is, it's all or nothing with him. You can't ask him to go out and ease into it. If he sees the ball he'll go for it and sometimes he'll go for the ball when he can't see it too.
