davieG Posted 26 November 2004 Posted 26 November 2004 Typical badge kissing (euphemism for arse licking), money grabbing, double talking, couldn’t give a toss about the fans ungrateful modern professional footballer: Savage no fear of Foxes repeat Nov 26 2004 Robbie Savage today insisted Blues weren't another Leicester City waiting to happen.Savage joined Blues after suffering relegation with the Foxes in 2002 - a disaster he can't foresee again."There is no comparison to what happened at Leicester City when we were relegated," the midfielder declared. "I knew after the first game of the season when we were hammered 5-0 at home by Bolton Wanderers and then lost to Arsenal 4-0 that we would go down. Nice to know you tried eh Robbie, after all you were only getting £25k+ a WEEK "The team I am in now at Birmingham is a much better team than I was in at Leicester."We have outplayed Chelsea, we have outplayed Newcastle United and we have outplayed Manchester United."If anyone disagrees with that then I do not know which games they have been at."The difference is that we are playing better football this season but not winning the games. Last season we were winning 1-0 when we had one chance, which was taken by Mikael Forssell."We would have been hanging on against Chelsea, Newcastle and Manchester United, but not this season as we deserved to have won those games."We are playing better but we are not just getting that odd goal. We are not a million miles away from winning these games."But we need to start winning because if we don't we could be in trouble."We have Norwich City at home tomorrow and then Arsenal and Aston Villa --they will be two of our hardest games of the season."Being in a relegation battle is not nice but, as I said, there are no comparisons with Leicester."No-one is too good to go down. You look at the likes of Manchester City and Leeds United, everyone said that of them."But I see the quality in this squad and I can't imagine it would happen to us." Well make your mind up Robbie, "no way you can go down, No one is too good to go down" Will you be saying something equally creepy if you move on to Everton, or some other suckers who'll pay your over inflated wages but I guess the match your over inflated ego. Modern professional footballers you love em don't yeh. :w00t:
Ric Flair Posted 26 November 2004 Posted 26 November 2004 To be fair to the yellow teethed yetti, he is speaking the truth. Birmingham's team is a lot better than ours was when we went down and you have got to be positive when your in a relegation battle. Birmingham won't go down as there are alot of crap teams like Palace, West Brom, Norwich, Southampton and Blackburn. I would love Sav back though.

I just wished he (they) could say what they feel they need to say (and Robbie spouts off far too much) with out denigrating their previous clubs whatever the justification, it's a major insult to the fans that had previously supported him (them) and it sticks and shows a lack of intelligence and humility and a demonstrate what an arrogant bunch a lot of them are. Me I wouldn't have him back, not because of what he's said it just never works, the original motivation to prove ones self has gone and they end up swanning around like the own the place and that we the fans should be sooooooo grateful, similar attitude you get from the likes of signing Blake, Dublin et al.
Cobbo Posted 26 November 2004 Posted 26 November 2004 Just to be pedantic, we finished in the top 10 4 years in a row I used to love Sav, my respect for him has diminished. Our team in 99-00 would have taken Brum apart, the younger versions of a lot of their team infact running rings around them...
Anish Posted 26 November 2004 Posted 26 November 2004 Savage should learn to keep quiet at times. Saying that he knew we were down after the first 2 games was a very stupid thing to say...and absolutely wrong too.
Ash Posted 26 November 2004 Posted 26 November 2004 Savage is one of them players where you love him when he is in your team but hate him when he's not !
Scow Posted 26 November 2004 Posted 26 November 2004 Can't say I respect him after a number derogatory comments made from him about us since leaving.
Daz Posted 27 November 2004 Posted 27 November 2004 Savage is a w@nker and I hope Birmingham get relegated along with Blackburn. Daz,
filbertway Posted 27 November 2004 Posted 27 November 2004 I lost all respect for savage when he gestured to referee waving his hands to try and get matt eliott a yellow card.
MADLEVEIN Posted 27 November 2004 Posted 27 November 2004 Savage is big poof that city team would of buried brum and he knows it and the fact that he said he new WE was going down after 2 games is disgusting, very non-professional. izzet yes! sav can bolox
Bedford Fox Posted 28 November 2004 Posted 28 November 2004 However much i try to hate sav for the stupid comments i cant i still love him. Sav is great andno matter what he said about knowing we were down he still gave nothing less than 100% for us so we cant complain. And theres still ONLY 1 ROBBIE SAVAGE.

Guest Posted 28 November 2004 Posted 28 November 2004 At the end of the day, footballers are doing a job. As long as they receive their pay each month, they will remain loyal until they see greener grass elsewhere. Whilst most players have some respect for theair old clubs, and the fans who supported them, others feel it necessary to endear themselves to their current club by saying how crap their last one was, and this is the best thing that has ever hapened to them. Unfortunately, Savage falls into the latter category.
