Thracian

What an arsehole of a referee

Recommended Posts

Who the hell prepares referees?

The one today was like a novice auditioning for some band as a bleedin whistle player.

I reckon he was aiming for a place in the Guiness Book of Records for the number of infringements given in a match.

The way he worked that whistle he'd be f....n marvellous in porn films because he turns the blow job into an art form.

When will referees learn, or preferably be told, that their main contribution to any football match is to let the game flow - not to spot every possible infringement.

It is not whether he was right or wrong. It's about his reponsibility to the game..

Spectators aren't interest in f....n referees. the only good refereee is one who never seen and who are heard as sparingly as possible.

agreed 100%

I thought the line-o that was nearest the Kop in the second half was an absolute joke, anybody could have done a better job than him, and I don't think many of us are qualified to do a job like that.

Agreed with ODB.

I get the feeling that Thracian can't criticise the team or management today, so has to moan about something else instead.

I AM qualified to do a job like that!! And I agree, he was really poor. Although, that said - there were a couple of times in the second half when I was surprised he didn't put his flag up - it just shows what a dangerous game Ipswich's defence were playing.

I thought the ref was OK though. He played some good advantages in the second half, and he dealt fairly with the players. No cautions either.

Surely the most rational time to criticise a referee is when you've won.

I don't think anyones saying he favoured one side or the other, his problem was he interfered unnecessarily, he was a poor referee who very nearly ruined a perfectly clean game of football.

You're wrong there was a caution in the 2nd half to an Ipswich player.

Well as I think it shouldn't have been a yellow I think my point is still valid.

I meant to reply to Luffbra - My computer is slow, and by the time it had finished doing whatever it does, you had posted!! Should've quoted him really.

No, the most rational time to criticise a referee is when he was rubbish/ruined the game etc. What's the point in criticising for the sake of it? That's not being rational. Ok, I didn't see the game, but practically every week there's a thread about shit refereeing. I can't believe the refereeing can be that bad week in, week out.

If these decisions had have gone our way today, this topic wouldn't have even been created.

I'm not talkin about our way or otherwise. He just stopped play continually yet there wasn't a malicious tackle in sight and aggression wise the game was like a Teddy's Bear's picnic,

I think it was his first time at reffing in the Championship.

I don't actually think he was THAT bad, although he was let down by assistants who haven't quite grasped how the offside law works..

But we still managed a win anyway! :)

I'm absolutely delighted with today's results but if I (or you) can't criticise aspects of our performance today then you're not being objective. It was a start. A welcome start. At last we scored some goals and created some chances. But satisfied? You have to be joking and Kelly will think exactly that. Today was something to build on, not to feel smug about.

Oh please. No-one said we're suddenly going to get promoted now, or that we are a team even capable of getting to the playoffs. We were just celebrating a win. We can start criticising tomorrow, but just for tonight, celebrate a little

I can't believe Thracian said blow job and no picked up on it. Unbelievable.

P.s. To keep this vaguely on topic thought the ref was OK but the assistant ref was incompetent and we had him for both halves!

Surely they shouldn't swap sides at half time so it's fair? We got the one who didn't understand the offside rule in BOTH halves...
