dandannieldanok Posted 17 August 2006 Posted 17 August 2006 Liverpool have agreed a fee for Dirk Kuyt believed to be £10m. A good signing although for me he wasn't good enough in the WC to make me believe he could score lots of goals in the prem.
Maybes Posted 17 August 2006 Posted 17 August 2006 proven record in holland. However so did kezman and he was a flop. I think kuyt is a good signing.

shen Posted 17 August 2006 Posted 17 August 2006 He's a player that's improved a lot over the last 3-4 years. I remember him as a youngster at Feyenoord, replacing Bonaventure Kalou (I think) and he didn't impress me at all, but he's become a lethal finisher and is generally very mobile too. He's rated higher by Van Basten than Makaay and RVN! Good capture...
Tommeh Posted 17 August 2006 Posted 17 August 2006 From what i've seen of him he looks shit, they should have gone after David Villa

He's a good signing, but you don't believe he can score many goals in the Premiership?

I just don't think he looks like and plays like a fully-fledgling hitman, an example being RVN. I am not saying this is a terrible thing because I think he is a more Rooney-esque striker. A good player that will be a useful addition to Liverpool's weakened strikeforce.
Anish Posted 17 August 2006 Posted 17 August 2006 Liverpool's weakened strikeforce? Crouch, Bellamy, Fowler, Sinama Pongolle, and now Kuyt - they've got far too many strikers. As for Kuyt, judging from his WC performances he looked overrated. Dirk Kuyt, bag of shite.
lookwhaticando Posted 17 August 2006 Posted 17 August 2006 Liverpool's weakened strikeforce? Crouch, Bellamy, Fowler, Sinama Pongolle, and now Kuyt - they've got far too many strikers. As for Kuyt, judging from his WC performances he looked overrated. Dirk Kuyt, bag of shite. Didn't they flog Cinnamon Bogroll? Or just loan him out? Fowler, Crouch, Bellamy, Kuyt isn't too many strikers. Pongolle won't be getting a game if he hasn't left the squad anyway, so he doesn't count. I think they've got about the right number of strikers. Four quality strikers, plenty of competition in a 4-4-2 system, and plenty of variety - they all offer something different.
Finnegan Posted 18 August 2006 Posted 18 August 2006 I'd personally play Crouch and Bellamy. Don't really see why they need Kuyt, he's not exactly back-up material. And good luck telling Bellamy he's playing for the reserves. :\ Not that you'd want to, proven goalscorer at every level. If he can bag 18 for Blackburn he'll be laughing them into the back of the net infront of Xabi Alonso, Steven Gerrard and Garcia.
OBO Posted 18 August 2006 Posted 18 August 2006 His scoring record over the last 3 years is pretty incredible, I think he's going to do well in the Prem
Tomassi Posted 19 August 2006 Posted 19 August 2006 Anish - Dirk Kuyt, bag of shite Tomassi earlier on - this is liverpools B.O.S. And there you have it, the general consensus is that this is liverpools Bag. Of. Shite. I THANK YOU
Tomassi Posted 19 August 2006 Posted 19 August 2006 AND WHATS WITH THE COMMENTATORS CALLING HIM KAUTE? ITS KYTE (AS IN FLYING A KYTE OR KITE) HENCE THE SPELLING KUYT GAY I TELL THEE, ANNOYING TO HEAR AND HE IS UGLY TOO
Alexikokopops Posted 19 August 2006 Posted 19 August 2006 AND WHATS WITH THE COMMENTATORS CALLING HIM KAUTE? ITS KYTE (AS IN FLYING A KYTE OR KITE) HENCE THE SPELLING KUYT GAY I TELL THEE, ANNOYING TO HEAR AND HE IS UGLY TOO It's actually spelt Kuijt, just as Johan Cruyff's name was actually spelt Cruijff. Dutch names are often changed like this outside the Netherlands.
Steven Posted 19 August 2006 Posted 19 August 2006 Klass Jan Huntelaar is the best Dutch striker at the moment. Klass Jan Huntelaar
Guest Gist Posted 19 August 2006 Posted 19 August 2006 Did he play at all today and if so did he make an impact?
Tomassi Posted 19 August 2006 Posted 19 August 2006 Did he play at all today and if so did he make an impact? He is that B.O.S. that Liverpool realised he wouldn't make an impact and left him out of the squad altogether for today...
