The People's Hero Posted 18 August 2006 Posted 18 August 2006 I'm setting one up today. No idea what I'm doing. Server plus 5 workstations whilst running the old system/network too as we can't have an interruption in the use of our bespoke insurance software back office system thing. Does that make sense? Like fu ck it does.

Alexikokopops Posted 18 August 2006 Posted 18 August 2006 Maybe Pipex can help http://www.ragrap.com/index.php/david-hass...f-the-internet/ This has no relevance, I just watched it and it's closely related to computers

Like fu ck it does. Are you setting this up or is someone else working on this too? If you really have no idea what you are doing, you're not likely to get it done without lots of pain and waste of time. PS: My brother is a top-notch networking consultant. I could also probably be persuaded to deal with a small networking problem like yours
cisono Posted 18 August 2006 Posted 18 August 2006 I am available at one hundred guineas per hour plus expenses. At that price, I'd fix servers all day too
Steven Posted 18 August 2006 Posted 18 August 2006 I have a similar problem..........your hired!!!! Show me the money.

I could also probably be persuaded to deal with a small networking problem like yours I know my way around a pc.. just don't know a hell of a lot about networking. I know we need Microsoft Small Business Server 2003 becayse we need excghange and stuff and we need to run SQL or something. Whilst I networked all of our previous systems, which never really had a dedicated server as such... I'm just a little bit apprehensive about this since I've never done it before. I'm a Company Sec and an Underwriter. Not really an I.T man.. but it's a small business so I got the job!

The People's Hero Posted 18 August 2006 Author Posted 18 August 2006 Good luck then! PS: I am a company sec too... We are each other. Seriously.. are you my feminine side?
Knighton Matt Posted 18 August 2006 Posted 18 August 2006 I'm a Company Sec Good luck then! PS: I am a company sec too... Haha I could find out both your home addresses! Actually that's a blatent lie I don't know cisono's real name. Which is a shame cos as much as I like James I don't think turning up at his house with by big Macintosh would have quite the same effect! p.s. before anyone calls the police, I AM joking.
cisono Posted 18 August 2006 Posted 18 August 2006 We are each other. Seriously.. are you my feminine side? This certainly seems more than just coincidence!

I called the police intending to report this but they just kept asking if I was keeping away from the kids these days. Wanqas. p.s. before anyone calls the police, I AM joking.
The People's Hero Posted 18 August 2006 Author Posted 18 August 2006 Are you in the IT industry Cisono? You don't have to tell me the name of the company... just what it is that you do.

I actually do lots of unrelated stuff... but - to stick to just IT: I do have a Masters degree in IT I do some programming I build my own PCs The company itself specialises in networking
lookwhaticando Posted 18 August 2006 Posted 18 August 2006 We are each other. Seriously.. are you my feminine side? I seriously doubt it... Hardly peas in the pod, you two. And surely you'd hope she wasn't your feminine side... you'd be trying it on with 'yourself'... And if she was your actual sister, that'd be incest, and that's rather worse.
cisono Posted 18 August 2006 Posted 18 August 2006 I seriously doubt it... Hardly peas in the pod, you two. Hmm some spooky coincidences were uncovered today though, you have to admit
